Vessel Project status

Project: Flt Ops Scimitar
Current status: Progressing Slow
Problems:
- Damage variations (Agh! Having to go through every single ship!
)
- Veteran ship still incomplete
- Build and Wireframes not complete
- Need some better light maps. And textures maybe.
I am open to any help you are willing to offer. (Because I'm getting a real head ache from these damage variations!)

If you take a look at my modding kit theres a tool in there that will do most of that calculation for you...

I can't figure that thing out, that modding kit I can't figure out! So I'm stuck to manual.

- Dynamic String entries (may be tweaked)
- Cap file entries

Project Status: Passive (currently put aside)

- HP redo of the dreadnougt (ship classified)

Okay, I could use a modeler.
But I also would like to know some opinions on my planned things.
Everyone, here is a list of the things I want opinions on, please respond with corresponding numbers.
1] On the Dreadnought I am planning a Wormhole generator (generates a wormhole to any point on the map).
2] On one of the science ships I was going to have a 2x artillery range tachyon scan (costs 2 supply per scan)
3] On the Oberth (yes, it is going in there...) I was wondering about having a refit system (a Destroyer refit, a Support refit, and a Science refit).
4] On the Anomie class (basically dominating the votes), I was going to equip a Hex-Colbalt torp making it an artillery destroyer. What is your opinion?
5] Also on a battleship I am planning to give it multi-targeting, between 3 and 6 which would be the best (given medium range on top of that, plus it has both a phaser and torpedo)?
6] Finally, Should I give the dreadnought a deflector beam?

All, I can say is get permission. So far sounds good, and I can't wate to see how these turn out.

An oberth has no buisness being a "destroyer". That is my opinion.

Usually before I select a ship I see if it requires permission, if it says to give credit, so be, if it says it is free to do, so be. If it requires permission I'd usually ask first.

But when it comes to weapons I rarely use other people's material, which means 100% me!

The original will be kinda like a heavy scout/light destroyer. But the refits will certainly bring it up to destroyer.

As I have said before the oberth has no buisness being a destroyer. The most feasible roles I see for such a platform are long ranged sensor platform. In no way should an oberth have any kind of firepower greater than say the newton class. Nor should it have any kind of durable sheilding in its science ship role. in which case I see no reason for the oberth to be in FO....

Yes about modeling ships for the game I have an animation program called lightwave3d (NewTek LightWave) but I cant figure out how to objects out of the game.
I wanted to make some animations with it. Possibly a Fleetops Intro!
I have Milkshape 3d but it will only accept Vanilla Armada II files.
Is there a plugin or something?

At least one O'Berth was fighting the Borg at Wolf 359; reference the opening of Deep Space Nine - "The Emissary, Part 1."

Actually, the Oberth Class has pretty powerful Shields because of it's role (especially the part that involves pushing through Nebula's without trouble).
It would fit in 3 ways;
1. A Warp-In counterpart to the Canaveral with heavier shields
2. An avatar-specific Canaveral replacement with enhanced Sensors
3. A Map unit with enhanced sensor and weaker crew (both indentified by a 'Civilian Science ship' passive))

That was either sheer desperation or a civilian ship that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. My money would be on the latter.

Okay.... I think I get it with the Oberth thing. 
What about the others? I'd like to see what people think of the rest of my ideas. Especially on numbers 1, and 4-6.

Ok 1337_64M3R, as long as you don't mind writing the special weapons yourself and arent doing anything too fancy with ODF files, my tool should be along later (i just gotta add a few things to it), which will vastly simplify your work. (Sorry it was late)
