atm currently working to get the defiant flying around the station..

Make some good progress.. Got a picture whats just to funny to not show

It seems you need to create a copy of the odf for the fed-fighter and then rename it and add/change the basename = "whatever" to basename = fed_Defiant and use that one for the hangar-code of the DS9-station.

If you're going to add fighters to the station, you should probably use a Danube Class Runabout instead of the Defiant. There's a few available on A2Files.

You know, it'd be cool to have DS9 be a repair facility / mining facility / trading station. I don't think actually building vessels should occur. Of course trading isn't in the current flops build but I think this stuff fits better with canon.

I like this BUT.... remove the graviton torps, the pulse phasers, vector torpedo and yard/dock.

Add in the shorter duration beam phasers as mentioned earlier.

For the torpedos.... both sides of each docking pylon, as I recall, had a rotary photon launcher.

That would be six dorsal and six ventral launchers, 12 rotary launchers total, prehaps do the arc of fire mentioned as well.

Have each rotary launcher fire 3 torpedos per burst BUT also spread fire out like a fed torp turret

It would leave the station as only really attackable with either a tac cube, or with a large fleet of enough size to dilute the stations firepower.

wow ... i must say very well done ....and im with tokra ....what he recommends  sounds good. But...lol .... i would keep the ship repair feature on the station (perhaps make it cost like 25di 25 tri 2 supply per ship...or something like that ) and it would be kool if fleet ops gets some kinda of trade station or perhaps add some merc ships that a player can hire ???? but the station it self is very nice.

That's definitely BC's DS9 model.  It's pretty low-res by today's standards, but the only alternative available is Reddragon's and that model is almost on the same quality level as the stock BC one.

It'd be cool to have DS9 on a Fleet Ops map, maybe starting out as an abandoned station and needing to be taken over by the player.  I agree with Njm about the stations building abilities - It'd be much more realistic as a heavily armed repair station, I like the weapon layout proposed by Tok'ra - sounds very balanced for Fleet Ops game play.

Except of the ability of building startships, I love the idea.
OK, DS9 is a multifunctional station, but it is not big enough to construct any bigstarship. I would add Danube-class runabouts, freighters and repair ships to the the building list instead of the battleships. This also represents that DS9 needs fleet support to defend itself, but it is self-sustaining otherwise.

That would be awesome for new gametypes :D
The Starbases produce spare parts and you need to tow these with constructors to DS9 to bring it up to power. And then you need to hold it for 10min to win :D
