BSG Mini Mod Project Update Thread

I will look at the size issue.  I based it on the galaxy class, sense the battlestar should be about twice the size of the galaxy, but I will make it bigger because the galaxys in FO only hold 300 crew. :rolleyes:  and the battlestars hold 2500...  that could be an issue, but it will help to see the fighters I guess because they will be in scale with their respective carriers.  I supose If I were to make the battlestars actual size compared to the crew count in FO they would be as big as starbses, :o but I won't make them that big.  just a little bigger.

Sorry if I ramble, I am on cool down from writing two long papers, so...

I once made a booboo while writing in English that, when translated into another, more exotic, language, got a lot of people laughing. Don't ask me what it was, because when I asked for the translation I got the following answer:

"Polite people don't use that kind of language in a public forum".

I put it in the "I really don't want to know" department, and moved on. But still...  :huh:

Update:  Screen shots speak for them selvs.  Viper base odf, and convirsion complete, re-sized

Can you throw some Stargate into the mix? You know, like a Stargate/Battlestar alliance vs the Guoul/Cylon Alliance?

That's exactly the kind of mod I hate. Mix everything together! There have been enough threads even here where it has been 'proven' that ST vs SW vs B5 vs BSG vs whatever doesn't make any sense.

But I wanted to say something about the mod  :sweatdrop:

The Viper MK II is already in as far as we can tell from the pictures. Do you plan to bring in the MK VII, too? Can you already tell uns something about the battlestar-types you're planning to do?

Srry, about my suggestion... its just that SG and BSG have such a similar design concept (at least the humans anyway). Because if you take the SG human fighter and do a little retexture then it looks like it belongs in the BSG universe....

The fighters look quite similar in design... was the two series directed by the same man?

Regarding the design you're right. And you don't have to apologize for your suggestions. It's just me who don't likes mixed universes mods. ;)

Neither the showrunner nor the people responsible for the design were the same. But both shows shared a common idea about how human technology in some (hundred) years might look and work, at least until Stargate's later seasons.

Oh... okay.... though how fast do those fighters go? Do they go like the speed of 360 A2 units? 280? Because I'd imagine something small like that would be very fast....

I doubt size matters, really. They are in space, not an atmosphere.

As far as I can tell from the good old "Beyond The Red Line" days they go frakkin' fast. But since ST and BSG use different propulsion systems I'd assume that everything in a BSG mod would have to move slower. To cross large distances the battlestars are able to use their FTL drive to travel instantaniously from A to B.
The Colonials and the Cylons would be quite op considering that  :D
Just another point for not having a mixed universes mod btw.

What makes you think of that? I ain't anythin like that! But what I was talking about is that there are some similarities. Who doesn't notice that the models look like they may have shared a similar paint job or somethin... I dunno... maybe I'm thinking of somethin else. Though... one thing I wouldn't mind seeing is that Cylon Basestar.... maybe also make it have a better window pattern (more lights personally).

Yeah a x302 and Viper look nothing alike. In my humble opinion there are more similarities between starwars and bsg than bsg and stargate...well actualy to be fair posibly a daedulus could fit in a bsg fleet in terms of style...I just wish I could get a true like bsg battle going between my battlestars and the cylons but it is proving to be a pain....grrr.
