Tyler do you do that online, and then how do you change ship commands
posted on December 3rd, 2010, 11:14 pm
It's in your computer, C drive :)

What do you mean by ship commands?
posted on December 3rd, 2010, 11:16 pm
I mean how do you change say a ship's phaser's ,or look. That's what i meant
posted on December 3rd, 2010, 11:21 pm
You can change the color of a phaser/size/image stuff by changing the sprite that is used for them using any image manipulation software. If you want to change how many phasers are fired etc, you can change that in the weapon ODFs or the ship's ODF (where the phaser is fired from). I'd recommend going to the guide and reading through the ship template tutorials, as well as the rest for more complete explanations :)

Thank's for input but iam not sure this is something i should mess with.

yes i think it's safest you leave this alone navyguy.

i dont mean to sound condescending, but if you didn't know what tyler meant when he gave you that path, you should probably start at a more basic level of computer study. buy one of those books that introduces you to all the stuff :)

I'll teach you some really basic stuff navyguy.

Go to your flops folder

Then click on the folder named Data

Then the folder named odf

Then the folder named system

right click to sort it by name (to make finding stuff easier)

Then scroll down a bit til you see "all_cap_warpin.odf"

Right click, and select 'properties', and uncheck readonly if it's checked.

Open it in notepad, you'll see the following.

Code: Select all
maxcap = 10
captooltip = "         Warp-In Support ( %d / %d )"
fleetcapclass0 = "fed_ambassador"
fleetcapclass1 = "fed_ambassadorM"
fleetcapclass2 = "fed_ambassadorMr2"
fleetcapclass3 = "fed_ambassadorMr3"
fleetcapclass4 = "fed_ambassadorMr4"
fleetcapclass5 = "fed_ambassadorr2"
fleetcapclass6 = "fed_ambassadorr3"

Were it says "maxcap = 10" change it to "maxcap = 20" and save.

Congratulations, you now have 20 warpin slots (change it back if you want to play online, of course)

Yeah, its not what you want done probably but its a first step in your figuring this out.

All about editing odf's and txt files Directory Organization - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations

And another nice place to start would be here.
