1 Galaxy took a few hits to the bottom, then continued flying foward and firing at the Platform as it passed. We saw nothing else of it because the screen switched to Defiant.

Aside from that, they were only seen firing at off-screen targets or blowing up a deactivated Weapon Platform with a few Torpedoes during a fly-by.

Well, it's been a while since I've seen it :)

Anyway, this was just the feeling that the Devs got from the shows through TNG etc, and there hasn't been any counter statement to show that the Galaxy was all that effective or needed.  ^-^

Aside from the fact that they were still being built after the war... but, anyone who doesn't like Voyager probably wouldn't count that.

What time were they being built in Voyager?

EDIT: ah I see, but that is just speculation, as those could just be retrofits, rather than brand new chassis.

My mistake, I was thinking about the the 3 (at least) being built in Relativity... that was about 2 years before the war...

They were around Earth in Endgame (about 5 ships) and by the Romulan Neutral Zone in Nemesis.

So not that many still: like the info says, they are around, just not that common :)

Yeah, though still more than '6-8'. Not very many more, though.

Who knows, maybe some others were scrapped, sent to museums or blew up mysteriously: the fact that it is close enough shouldn't be too bad now should it? ;)

Maybe... being stuck in 'storage', never to be seen again would work too... Actually, that's probably more insulting that being beat by a D-12 Class!

At least one was just a frame with a few bits of metal on top. Can't retrofit empty space into a ship.

The correct term for "storing" a ship is "mothballing".

And it is a common practice in all navies in the world nowadays. IIRC, the Iowa was mothballed at least once, then recalled into service and refitted.

Space provides better conditions for mothballing ships than the corrosive sea, so a starship can be safely mothballed almost indefinitely. So it's not so far-fetched that some Constitutions and Mirandas are mothballed in some secure area inside the solar system, along with some Galaxies and StarFleet knows what else. Mothballed ships receive no maintenance, so the only budget needed for keeping them is a perimeter surveillance and alarm system.

Indeed :)

...but back to the topic at hand: anyone have any criticisms, comments, complaints, ideas for the online version of the guide?

Hmm, well for people like me, who use a 4:3 1280x1024 monitor to read on generally, the text is all on the right hand side because of the links on the left, which is awkward to read, at least for me. So would it be too difficult/bad to move it to the right hand side? Or maybe this is only a problem for me.

Actually I would imagine it'd be normal because folder and file Icons are commonly on the left. Unless you are a R2L reader...

Hmm, I'll talk to Zebh about this and see what he has to say. He's not available for a few days, so all I can do right now is add content  :sweatdrop:

Hmm, I may be going crazy, but who knows? It's almost 3 in the morning here and I have a headache.
