Well, I've played FO on the following rig:
Dell Optiplex GX260
Intel Pentium 4 (non-Hyperthreading) @ 2.0 GHz (1 core)
1 GB DDR2 RAM
nVidia GeForce 6200 w/256 MB (I think)
150 GB HDD
Windows Vista SP2 32-bit
I don't have accesss to the machine at the moment so I can't give you WEI - I'll get it later - but I think it's around 2.0-2.5
I can play FO on it with low settings and get a descent game. I gets sluggish when there's lots of stuff on screen, I move quickly, or when cloaks are involved, but otherwise it's playable. It's not hooked to the internet so I don't know how it would perform online though.

Ok, from the data collected here we've compiled what is hopefully a mostly accurate requirements description
: Technical FAQ - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations
If there are any system specific issues, still feel free to post them - if you have issue with any of the information, describe it as well

LOL I meet the min requirements.
I think it is incorrect though. I thought Minimum requirements were perfect play at mimimum graphics. Recommended would be full graphics with no AA. I have the 8200 and can play fine at full graphics, ofline.
Also, I think you should list the minimum required internet connection speed. Don't know if it would be helpful, just seems important to me.
This is a good site because users can link to their score. Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Speed is hardly a factor in multiplayer performance, since Fleet Operations doesn't require that much bandwidth. What kind of systems the clients use, latencies between the clients and packet loss between the clients have usually higher impact on multiplayer performance.

I see. And such a thing would be difficult to require from player to player considering the factors that can change those from game to game.

Hey, Dom, you might want to make a note in the System Requirements section that the nVidia GTX 400/500s don't work properly with FO and then direct people to the fix at the bottom of the page.

Its already there
"However if you have NVidia GeForce GTX 400 or 500 series, see Technical FAQ - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations"

Oops, I missed that. Make it bigger then, or bold; if I missed it others will too.

It looks like I may be able to install XP as a second operating system on my PC soon. I'll re-post specs and performance for XP if I can.
EDIT: Just noticed, I don't meet the Guide's minimum system requirements.

Nah, you didn't miss it Atlantis - we just posted it there
Minimum specs are, as with all minimum specs, across the board - so it appears that you have many times the necessary RAM, and graphics card, yet a weaker CPU.

example system 3 has a typo, duel core, and no space between duo and opening bracket.

Oh, so I'm not crazy.
Maybe you should at least put "Note:" in bold before it.

Way to high.
Minimum = at lowest detail level in low resolutions (800x600 or even 640x480)
On an Celeron 1,8Ghz Singlecore, x700 with 128Mb Vram and temporaly 512Mb ram I played Fleetops 3.2 in 1280x800 with med details. With only lags with huge clocked fleets, realy big fleets and big borg explosions. But this problems are also present on far better machiens.
Or in other words: Minimum = it runs and most of the time even without lags.
Also, the BS is missing. My specs are on WinXP turned down to the recourceuse of Win2k. 7 even gets trouble with Firefox when only 1gb ram is there. I think there you need 1,5gb and a faster CPU.

Core 1 duo @2,16 GHz (mobile CPU)
ATI Radeon X1600 mobile with 256MB RAM (not shared)
2 GB RAM
320 GB HDD @7200 rpm
Fleetops runs fast with maxed detail and 2x AA but often lags (even in single player) when scrolling from one part of the map to the other part in the mini-map. Feels like its loading all textures new and it take 3 - 4 seconds sometimes.
Everything else is okay.
I will upgrade my laptop with a SSD in a few days and I will change the thermal paste. I will see, if it helps to let fleetops perform stable over a longer time (gets instable after 2 to 3 hours of gameplay) and maybe the ssd helps to load the textures faster, so that I have lesser lag.
SSD will me the Crucial m4.
