What do you think about Fleet operations ?

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

I don't know how old FleetOps was in 2004 but I stumble over this mod while surfing on a2files. From the realy first time I check out FleetOps I was impressed about quantity and quality of this modification. Since then I intermittently come back to star trek armada 2 means to me to come back to FleetOps. This year I get stuck and stay here on FleetOps. I spend alot of time with Star Trek Birth of the Federation and modifications like Ultimate Dominion Mod and all those spin-off BotF2 projects like Birth of the Empire (german project -> furthest but drop the star trek content) and Star Trek Supremacy (the american counterpart -> standstill). Back to FleetOps: I like the way of the Devs to put together RTS- and StarTrek- Fans. The one side need a good balance and the other side comes with new ideas on how there Trek-feeling can integrated into FleetOps. That could be a response to the poor implementation of StarTrek Online.

Diplomacy, exploration, contacts are all things I see in the future of FleetOps. There are easy ways to make this happen. For example: modified Ceasefire as a specialweapon/building can simulate a diplomatic-coorp as a way of play the federation in the future. Let's say just a 2 minutes Ceasefire and the resulting rebuild possibility on a 3on3. Let's spin-on while Ceasefire is activ the romulan can still use there spystation and you got the whole stuff into a new coldwar/intelligence-level. Explorations and contacts seems more a hard point for the singleplayer and we got planets, colonisation, text pop-ups and all blocks to build fascinating non-combat-stuff.

You know, some kind of forced "neutral zone" ability for the Federation could be pretty cool. I mean it worked on the Romulans, Klingons and Cardassians to an extent.

Borg are generally not invited to neutral zone parties...

Just get Janeway in the negotiations and the Borg will be putty in her hands, apparently.
