What do you think about Fleet operations ?

Well, i never said it before, but i think Fleet Operations:

- A serious mod.
- Great ship/stations/ambient textures (excellent graphics / Effects) The Griffin is awesome, i hate the original Armada 2 griffin texture. The FO texture is futuristic.
- Well balanced.
- Good variety of ships.
- A complete mod, because others mods has something missing like sound, voicesound. For example: The Dominion Race, all ships has soundvoice, you click on the ship and the ship answer.

- A very very very very datailed mod. You put the cursor on the disruptor/phaser/other thing icon and open a window explaining about the weapon and it history.
When you click on the ship, the hud shows the structure of the ship including weapons, passive abilities and other things.

- Good backgrounds, but need more like a M17 Nebula (Eagle nebula) and the Milky Way as seen from Earth.
- Need more type of stars and need a Gas giant planets and ringed planets. (I don't know if it's possible to make a ringed planet).

Well, this is a Super Mod, a Super Work, a very good game to play, every time i play FO i want more and more!!!!! Any computer i have, the computer must to have FO.

There are only two best mods of all:
First - Fleet operations
Second - X3 Reunion/Terran Conflict Xtended Mod.

And you ? what's your analysis ?

It's a professional level game.  There are games you can buy for 60 dollars U.S. that have more bugs in them than this one that is free.  The developers take a lot of pride in their work, and it shows.

One thing i have to say.

The Fleet Operations captured all the essence of Star Trek.

For me Fleet ops is exactly what I wanted in a Trek based RTS. Having played and modded Armada 1 and its various mods, and then doing the same with Armada 2. I always felt my own efforts and that of others was just a bit lacking... When I stumbled onto Fleet Ops and began to play it, I was amazed at how much I really enjoyed it as well as the quality. As time went on and each patch brought more new content, I found that I didnt want to Mod Armada 2 anymore. I eventually left all that behind and now only play Feet Ops and its the only install of Armada 2 on my hard drive.

Great work to all the Devs and production team.

I gotta agree, FO is a great mod (or, game).

There are only two best mods of all:
First - Fleet operations
Second - X3 Reunion/Terran Conflict Xtended Mod.

Try Art of War. You'll like it. It's not as good as FO, but almost.

Yep!!!

  When I stumbled upon FleetOps in 2009 I realized that this was exactly the kind of mod that I tried to make in 1999 out of Armada 1 while I was in high school .  These guys have had a lot longer and it certainly shows!!

indeed, a2 was weird, warp was silly and only building sovvies felt silly.

this is the type of thread that deserves to be created repeatedly, as its message needs to stay clear, thanks for a great game

Spamming Sovereigns was the first thing to mind for the weird? The Galaxy being stronger than the Sovereign is the first odd thing I think of.

I completely agree.  Have tried a number of RTSs and this is the only one that I have stuck with.  This mod is special, offers a lot of unique features and I hope is stays around for a long time.

The biggest worry I have is that Fleetops may not run on the 128 bit version of Windows 10.

I love this game, only RTS I've really 100% stuck with.
But you should try (if you like 3rd person space sim) the game Freelancer with discovery mod. Its almost like fleet operations.(there's also crossfire, it has better graphics, but I like Discovery mod better, crossfire's multilayer is virtually zero.)
