"Venture-class" isn't really called that

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

if anything the fact the they are small makes them harder to update with anything more than regular ships get. but anyway who cares its a scout

I care. Once I added standard level-up ability to my Venture's. Level 4 got a Sensor Range upgrade, Level 5 got Tachyon Detection.

I even got 1 or 2 to Level 5, too.

itd be cool if it got a stealth mode, so in stead of sensors being able to detect it at there full range, the venture would have to be pretty close to be detected

Ok so somehow you get lucky and it destroys a ships and then you level 5 ship and then it gets destroyed in the next attack wave. Besides even though Data was flying one aren't they usually automated?

No evidence that any Starfleet ships are (fully) automated.

well maybe not ships but the stations are so they could be, and based on the small size of it where would the crew sleep

The same place as they would sleep in a ship like the Delta Flyer or a shuttle, a very cramped and almost non-existant crack in the wall that somehow manages to pass for a bed. No canon attempt at making ships fully automated worked.

That's assuming it was meant for deep space, the one in Insurrection could have been attached to the hidden installation on the surface or normally kept in one of the Son'a ships.

Ah, Wall-racks.  The little shelf in the wall so prevalent in modern submarines to let about 200 people operate in something roughly the size of an 18-wheeler with a trailer.

If done with standard layout, a small section of wall can support 6 people sleeping at a time, so if that's what the little scout is doing, it likely has a crew of 3 if it's deep-space, with 2 'shelves' so that there is always someone freshly rested.  And they'd use 'hot-racking' which is climbing into the bed right after someone else climbed out of it.

Why bother with a tiny scoutship at all ? Call it the Crap Class or whatever.  :innocent:

Even if those ships are refitted, they are so small, nothing in the world can turn them into a mighty battleship, so why not just think about something that at least has the potential to matter ingame ?  :whistling:

Actually, it some times helps to use them a cannonfotter, or to...scout ahead... :shifty:

I don't really have much use for them, I never build more than the one it gives you.

If the scout is the only mobile unit that can detect cloaked enemy ships, they're pretty useful against Romulans and Klingons.

I thought they couldn't detect cloak in FO? I thought passive scan only affected sensor platforms?

Im not sure but I think you just have to research it, but by then, the map should have already bveen explored. ^-^

The Venture Class can't detect Cloak in FO. A rare example of FO actually making a ship even worse than stock.

In stock, it was a weak ship that can find cloaked enemies. In FO, it is simply weak.

Well, to be fair, the only truly useful scout in FO is the Romulan Talon (cloak and cloak detect)... the Klingon one is a short second (cloak). All the others can neither cloak, nor cloak detect  :crybaby:

The Borg one I don't consider a scout... because you can actually win the game within the first five minutes if all you do is build scouts.  :(
