Scimitar vs Tavara

Just wondering what the consensus is on this unlikely duel.
Do we even know how big the Tavara roughly is?

Tavara all the way. I think that a vet tavara could almost take out a cube... so the scimitar should be easy.

I dunno, the scimitar (ignoring the thalaron wep) did have the fire while cloak ability, which is pretty overpowered. Barring that and just making it a disrupters and plasma torp fight im much hazier on who'd win.

I think Shinzon's overconfidence is a little greater than most Romulan commanders. That can be fatal, no matter what ship your in.

so consider Tavara with shinzon vs Scimitar wth shinzon again as captain.

The Captian gives the crew orders and they use the ship, the two aren't much different. Was Nemisis Scimitar vs Enterprise or Shizon vs Picard?

But here we're asking about tavara vs scimitar as ship vs ship. Certainly we can say that a borg cube was better than the galaxy. yet 1701-D ended up destroying the cube.

Surely when we ask a question, who would win between a cube and a galaxy, we arent involving the crew's ingenuity... u can never gauge that... not even when mentioning your incomplete analysis of Shinzon.

therefore, as i said, consider Scimiatr with shinzon as capt vs Tavara with Shonzon as captain. Keeping the crew element equal to gauge the ship's abilities.

the scrimatar could fire thru its cloak and keep its sheilds up at same time....also the scrimatar had primary and secondary sheilds.....to me its seems like that 1 tavara is the same as say 4 norexean class warbirds...and the scrimatar easily handled two norexeans and a sovereign class. in gact I think if I remember corectly worf stated in nemesis after the two norexeans were knocked out the fight and the enterprise basicly disabled that the scrimatars sheilds were holding at 70%.  My verdict is the scrimatar would win..posible stats for the scrimitar say...offensive 280 defensive 400 sumthin and a posible sytem value of 250....

Isnt there reference in Worf's tactical analysis that the Scimitar has over 50 disruptor banks... I can't think of anything else with that much firepower. How many disruptor banks on a normal warbird? a dozen maybe.... it's easily like 5 times a standard warbird's firepower. I wonder what the numbers are for the Tavara but thats a tough match-up either way.

plus, let's not forget that the Tavara is pretyt sluggish. the scimitar was pretty manoeuverable.

What about firepower? Sure the Scimitar has a lot of weapons, but are they stronger than a Tavara's?

realise if we took the tavara and gave it realistic wepons , not aramdaII weapons, then i as shure it would have like 50 disruptor banks.

as for the fight id say a vet tavara could wipe the floor with the simatar. providing it used it disruptor bombardment, not to mention the additional wepon banks abillity from the norexan.
but if you mean sheer brute force, the tavara very well could loose

RFO Cairo1, if you're making the Tavara a Matriarch Warbird, then it's only fair to give the Thalaron weapon to the Scimitar... so still stalemate.

That's it!  The team must now build us a map object Scimitar as proof of concept.   That way we can duel them and see which ship comes out on top!

Those stats are about 50% greater than your standard Tactical Cube, especially for its defensive value.  The problem is we've never seen a scimitar in game and we've never seen a Tavara in the show.  So the question is:  Are we comparing the scimitar using game stats or trying to guess what a movie version of the Tavara would be like?  If we're comparing them in the game, are we comparing them to their vetern status?  Do we allow the Tavara its purchasable upgrades?  Mijural's upgraded avatar or just Helev's? 

Also, what kind of special does the Scimitar get?  I would say the new Avaleh cloak (or whatever it's called), so that it can fire while cloaked.  In game the Scimitar would get a lot of pulse disruptors, maybe 8-10?  I see their stats being similar, based on the fact that they are both very powerful, very rare vessels, but I'm just guessing.  But these are the questions that would have to be answered I think.  Let's not forget that the Tavara has the improved cloak that only takes 1 second and can hide if the Scimitar decides to play dirty.  Also does the Scimitar get to recrew like the Tavara?

I would say the Tavara would win, but that's just because I like the ship more.

The stats I surmised are just a very ROUGH guess lol. If we were to take the canon scrimitar from nemesis and put in fleetops with its atribute unmodifyed the scrimitar would best everything else in armada...

The scrimitar in game would have multiple specials...the improved cloak and then a "veteran" scrimitar would get the theloran weapon ....I think though the scrimitar would have the defensive edge though cuz of its double layered shields(primary and secondary)...

One way to determine the strength of the tavara versus a "canon" tavara if one existed is to compare it to the norexean which is in nemesis. we know the stats for the fo norexean and tavara and then could somehow "calculate" an aproximate value.....then "transfer" this value to canon.

I would do this right now but I work with numbers all day and today I had to work with to MANY numbers and I need to give my head a lil bit of a breather from numbers.

Rough gues for a FO scrimitar though....hmmm....6 torpedo launchers 12 pulsed disruptors....2 heavy disruptor beam canons...the improved cloak....and then for veteran the theloran weapon which anihilates all life.
