After watching this one, I adopted the Borg strategy.  And made a few improvements on it.  So far, I've won every game.  Including a 1v1.

Uff yeah ... quite the snoozer.  No offense intended to any of the players, it's just that there was WAY too much hesitation and so nothing happened for way too long :D

hmmm boring.... just so u know we tried to make entertaining ,i know there was a bit of hesitation but hey not everyone is as good as u Arash just remember that ok .
instead of just saying its boring maybe offer some advice to allow new players like Charybde to learn from there replays
Well i know first hand u a good borg player so maybe offer suggestions on how u would have done thing differently etc not just 'omg that game was boring'

Suggestions for borg:

1. you never build ships until you know wtf the enemy is doing
2. you can instantly build ships as the "shipyard" (uplink) for your ship costs 100 dilth/trit, AND it takes like 10 seconds to build...
3. You can build multiple shipyards on top of each other (reducing the time delay between each ship production)
4. if your enemy is dominion ( and a pro-player ) then you give up, you will never hope to defeat b5 rush spam... ( i was able to pop 4 spheres out and still not enough... I even use damaging nebula's in old duel 1.2 to destroy those flipping fighters and still not enough! >:< ) <-- was against elim...
5. If they go mass bombers or s-2 you crush them with mass probe and torpedo scout cubes(you become slightly suicidal in this case as you have to make sure their numbers stay small)
6. you start attacking enemy when you have 3 ships ( not 2; that would drastically reduce your fire power early in game - unless of course you have 2 going and 1 is about to finish in like 10/15 seconds)
7. You don't go "OMG Station! my scube/probe can't do damage to them"
8. You take into consideration
          a. What is the enemy building?
          b. What size is their ship?
          c. Is the enemy able to outrun my scubes/probes?
          d. Are there ANY counters to borg adaptors with 1 torpedo/1regen mod
          e. how important is the station that I want to destroy?
          f. do I want to capture the station in order to see all enemy forces for 1 second on the map field? (some players are smart for this trick and decommission in the last second so the station is destroyed when you capture it + you can't see enemy stuff)
          g. what possible counters can they build against adaptors if I do build them?
9. In the case of borg vs klingons/romulans: borg should spam probe and torpedo scubes, as the enemy has no chance of survival
10. use borg transporters to your advantage, not to your disadvantage
11. Transporters are good to capture enemy ships to boost your OWN firepower, not to force your ships keep enemy ships alive
12. transporters is best used if enemy ship does not have weapons or (in case of short range) you can let it slightly escape and then follow it
13. transporters help enemy get rank as they can kill their own ship, however, they lose fire power and gives you a little extra time to do whatever
14. If you run out of supply you don't que up resource assimilators (miners) or probes (they suck supply out of you...)
15. Borg do not gain rank, so when you do attack, you either attack knowing what you want to do or to distract the enemy from your "main goal" i.e. building a cube at their main tritanium moon(not suggested)
16. spheres are not "gods" , spheres can easily be destroyed
17. cubes are not "gods" , cubes can easily be destroyed
18. you think before transforming the uplink into a chassis
19. The Easiest way to destroy a starbase is with a sphere
20. The harder way to destroy a starbase is with mass scout cubes, probes, and other small ships of borg and using devastating attack, cutting beam, or using boarding and transporters once shields are down... (by this time you should have like 30 + small ships and the enemy should be on the verge of quitting)
21. You build multiple uplinks (if you can) in different locations to confuse your enemy (do not build uplinks in a pattern [for example: a straight line])
22. borg early cloak detection early game is transporters, as soon as someone cloaks/decloaks at your fleet you transport and you instantaneously disable/capture one of the enemy ships
23. Against klingon constructor ships: you destroy it quickly if it is in the vicinity with no other military ships
24. Borg ships work as a collective, Every hull regeneration counts, and every damage counts
25. you use your damaged ships and send them to odd places on the map to "scout"
26. if you find an unprotected mine or protected by 1/2 ship you kill it, and then eat the mines
27. When you're done you retreat, unless you are engaging in 2 other places then you continue until the enemy spawns into your sensors
28. keep the detector ALIVE: add it to your fleet, it provides valuable sensor data
29. if your detector dies build another one!
30. if you can't predict where the enemy is (and they are not a cloaking faction) then you're dead

The End.

sorry for it being long, just some tips and strategies that goes through my head when i play borg....

edit: sorry i forgot my if's

Low, key game with some newer players that wanted to get recorded and on the site.  Good chance to see a lot of different Klingon ships.

Star Marshall and Farshadow,
Hope I wasn't too critical guys, certainly did not intend to be.  :innocent:[/align]

No ya weren't too critical (at least in my opinion). I Feel though that I have to apologize. Within the game the Lul didn't feel quite as long as it apparently was. What was holding me back was not wanting to be a KillJoy to Farshadow. He was hesitant to agree for a cloak game to begin with... So I feel responsible for the lack of action. looking at it, it did seem a bit cruel. Something to learn about myself... Good Intentions and all.

To Clintsat though, thanks for the commentary. I hope future commentary will be more interesting.

To Farshadow if you read this: I really do suggest seeing if there are some other players that'll help you. I think you can only learn so much from me, but I have no problem with continuing to play.

Thanks to Clintsat and the rest of the FO populous!

Vor'cha steal, don't see that every day...

Poor Nebbie lost three battle yards that game.  But as Yandon said, he kept re-expanding and that was important.  At the very least he made me split my fleets to keep his base down.

That first battle in the middle was pretty frantic.  A few seconds in we (top team) really started to coordinate on what we were firing on.  Chary did a great job getting the vorcha to leave, I focused on the Romulans and Arash did his thing.

Chary also did a great job keeping his wits about him and not giving up as Robe's invincible fleet pushed up.  We used that time to finish off Primi, wipe out Robe's main mining and intercept Robe's (few) repairing ships that were coming down.  Arash and I play best when we can go "Lone Ranger" style and Chary bought us time and attention to do so.

In the early game, Arash was feeding me resources and supply so I didn't have to stop production when I put up the HWP's and got my researches.

Against Clintsat, you will see it every day that you make a Vor'cha.
