I was thinking of the B-8 Troop Ship, damn number's too similar... I'm sure they called it large.
EDIT: My mistake, they were talking about the B-5 at the time. I must have not being paying attention.

Heh I may have said a few things wrong in there. This was the first time I was trying to play and explain everything at the same time. It's HARD

It is really hard to be right all the time in a replay. The sheer volume of BS you say necessitates a small percentages of incorrect infos...

Hello all,
Being a new fleet operations player with a week of experience under my belt, I can honestly say while that, it is one of the best mods that I have seen in terms of dedication quality and balance, the level of complexity behind the different counters and passives can be a bit daunting. I'd like to personally thank Boggz and Clintsat for this wonderful, almost step-by-step insight on some of the deeper aspects of the Klingon and overall strategies. It it certainly useful to be able to see some of the guide's information unfold live into place, and gives a much better feel regarding "efficient" execution tactics. Keep up the good work guys!

Wow I'm so glad that some of you really enjoyed that play-by-play
. It was fun to do and I'm sure Clint and I will do more
.
I am a little curious to hear from some of the non-native English speakers about how easy or hard I am to understand. I speak very quickly and I tried hard to enunciate clearly while I was playing. Is it too hard to understand for you Germans, Croats, etc .... ?

Ok so regarding the replays that Ray has not yet linked but are posted on his YouTube account:
1. When Boggz gets drunk he gets loud. Ignore his rants and ignore his bitching.
2. Ray320 does NOT speak for Boggz when it comes to Intrepids.
3. Canaverals DO technically counter Intrepids, but in practice are not really feasible as a counter.
4. When Boggz gets drunk he doesn't play as well. Please ignore any myths and urban legends saying otherwise
. Micro < Drunkenness
Hope that clears things up. Yes, Intrepids are (in my opinion) boring because they are too overall useful, but they are not OP. Yes, Canaverals DO counter Intrepids, but it's impractical to field enough Canavs to actually get kills on them when it matters. No, Boggz does NOT get better when he plays drunk
. The 2v2 with Clint, Robe, and Arash should be plenty of evidence for that
as I was just a mess
.
The 1v1 with Shadow I was also drunk and was told he was new. I played more or less friendly-like until I realized he was actually pretty good. Oops
Since he's just about to post 2 games where I'm hammered I figured I'd post a bit of a disclaimer.

Not to start an argument here, but the blue nebs give a HUGE advantage to borg. They cut the retreat distance down to 1/4 of heading all the way back to base, and even if they reach the base your ships can still be sniped.
The moment a borg vessel is outgunned in a 1v1, its survival becomes a simple equation relating its current health and the distance to a place where it can shake off its pursuers. The blue nebula effectively makes borg ships 4x as effective at attacking the enemy's base on Duel.
That being said, I think this is a good thing. In multiplayer games, borg players have allies to run to but in any 1v1 it's very hard for them to project their power.

The problem I think with Duel II's blue nebs is that any non-Borg ships chasing lose half of their health (if they're lucky enuff to be Klingons even...), this effectively means that the Borg don't need much firepower to take out multiple ships of yours. Combined with subsystem losses and Dode turreting (which seems to be becoming popular for those blue nebs) this can really create a problem. And if the Borg decides to go back thru the blue neb once you've crossed it, you're going to have to lose even more to chase.
When playing against Borg, people don't even dare cross a blue neb without scouting the other side, so they can't often use it for raiding (Borg ships often seem to just park inside the neb, knowing escape is easy.)
Better than it used to be, but still a problem.
I think some wide (for more damage, so there is still significant risk) red nebulae would really be a better idea, they would still help out Borg a bit, but without instantly taking shields off of stuff.

True, and normally that would be my line of thought as well.
HOWEVER, since Borg ships cannot repair the way that EVERYONE ELSE can, it's important that their retreat distance is not as long.
I have yet to see these nebulae cause a problem. Most of what I've seen is "shielded" players being too chicken-shit to actually pursue things like Sphere or Dodes or Scubes into these nebs. Combat can still happen in and around the nebs, you just have to have experience doing so and know what you can and cannot get away with.
EDIT @ Myles:
I really think you're giving too much credit to the effect of the Blue Nebs. Borg cannot HIDE in them, they can just go through them and have an advantage if they are chased. This is essentially something input to help counterbalance the fact that all other races can set up repair yards anywhere they want and repair their ships in mere seconds.
With the Dode-Turreting: you've seen it and it seems to be popular. Great. That doesn't man it's a good idea. Sometimes it is, but frankly those Dodes are not really placed that effectively right there in my opinion. "Oh no, you can't go through that Neb anymore against Borg due to the Dode, too bad there aren't several other paths to my opponent's base".
Try something different ... Borg are the most handicapped race in the game right now and while I may hate them, LOTS of thought went into the construction of this version by Dominus and I to ensure that it would be as balanced as possible for all races. The Borg were the foremost reason for the update.
