Nice vid, but some things i don't like.

The Phaser fire from the intrepid looks really bad...cause it comes out somewhere.
And the first cut scene looks a bit rough, their is a long break and a music change.
Or maybe my player is sucking around :D

But the video has potential

Great, but, like the other already mentioned: The explosions are the fast, the debris should be more AND you need a little physics when firing and hitting.

Something like hull breach with small explosions.

But the view is great. More special effects and it is fantastic!

Awesome!!!  :woot:

Like others have said, the explosions and dead ships need work, there should be more of them left, don't just vaporize them and linger on the hulks a bit; the explosions need more visual depth and length to them. Loose the shaky or jerky camera effect, it really isn't necessary and is a bit distracting. Stick to simple zooms and pans while keeping the camera fairly stationary relative to the subject. Having the camera fly over the ships doesn't really do much for the shots.

I like the opening, a bit reminiscent of Bridge Commander, but I think you need a different static effect, one which does not recall rabbit ears, the more digitized static which you use in the first seconds is good but not the wavy screen effect. You definitely need a lone Borg ship in there. If you removed the Romulans for the Beta 2 video, try to get them back in and try to show off the Klingons a bit more.

I don't know how you're rendering and "filming" this but the lighting seems a bit to bright and brilliant. Tone it down a bit, or maybe try to reduce the reflections on the hulls, so that it conveys the conflict centered ideas in the game.

Don't put such a long break in the music after the opening sequence, what you really need is a bass note or chord which will tie the two bits of music together but hold onto the tension created by the first bit. At the very end, don't cut the music off so quickly, let it come to a resolution and to be effective it has to end minor just like that passage started. Also let us see the Fleet Ops logo a bit longer, that is the climax of the whole opening, linger on it. Don't be afraid of length when making this opening.

Keep up the good work.

Yes, as you can tell, I just slapped the pieces of the puzzle together realy quickly. Thanks for the compliments and the input guys. The problem with the explosions is that I have to mostly use stock footage (thats free of course). So if anyone knows a place where I could get some good stock footage for explosions (besides Detonation Films), that would make things work a whole lot better. As for the remains, should I just have the hull left or what? Thanks again guys.

you could recreate an explosion of a FO ship in storm 3d viewer.  you place a looping explosion sod in the viewer, then the ship you want and if you time it right, and just tap the spacebar, you can blow up the ship, and not the explosion.  then all you do is record it.

Don't know if it will work for you, but I know thats one way to make an explosion

Ah good idea. Where can I get 3d viewer? and how do I use it. :D

they are everywhere, but here http://armada2.filefront.com/file/Storm_3d;3182

you neet to make sure the textures are in Textures/rgb folder like in stock a2.

then you use the - to select a sod, and + to add it to the game.  Space-bar to blow it up :D
