Nacelle - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki
I'm sure Klingons have some redundant cells to prevent against radiation
Aboard Federation vessels of the 24th century, warp coils are fed by plasma conduits from the warp core reactor assembly. Nacelles are usually separated from the main structure of the ship because of radiation generated by the nacelles; when at optimal levels, the radiation could be deleterious to the safety of ship and crew.

Klingon nacelles might not work the same way as Starfleet ones, since the rest of their systems are different.
Then again, considering how much they love safety, their nacelles are probably much worse even with the nacelles seperate from the ship...

Klingon engineering isn't that bad. The Birds of Prey are the only klingon ships with really high risk of getting radiation problems because their engine is right behind the most crewed part of the ship. This risk is lowered by not going to high warp speed until it gets absolutely necessary.
The Vor'Cha and Negh'Var won't be that endangered I think, the Vor'cha is just not that bad engineered and the Negh'Var class never would be wasted by the empire by building it unsafe to radiation.

Klingon Engineering isn't bad, but they are not a race that pays much attention to safety. They are the kind to ignore safety for better results from the tech their using. Safety doesn't concern them as much as other races.
From what I remember, terrible safety is part of what caused the Praxis explosion. They risked the safety of a key energy-production facility for the sake of better results, so a starship would be fair game for similar conditions

It makes sense that warriors do not care much about safety or science, but if they build huge warmachines like Negh'Var or heavy assault cruisers like Vor'chas which are much more expensive and valuable as B'rels and K'Vorts it's just hard to believe that they would ignore safety and radiations entirely. I think their radiation level could be at similar levels like on Ambassador class federation ships or something similar, safer for crew, more dangerous to subspace.

Maybe the Klingons protect their crew just barely enuff from the radiation, but let it seep out a lot into open space, thus hurting nearby vessels. Everything can be a weapon, they're Klingons after all. >:D

The radiation thing make sense
, though as Mal pointed out; that perhaps doesn't work so well for those on the Defiants, Sabers or Steamrunners!
I think if any of it were real then, Starfleet would probably find a way of sufficiently shielding against the radiation at least within a certain region around the nacelles as opposed to having them out in the open for anyone to shoot (once the shields are down). However, the fact of the matter is as such; Federation ships just look much better in their meat and two veg configuration than they do in weird formations. Most of the people I know tend to relate best to ship like The Connie and Galaxy, even if they're not Trekie's themselves

Radiation on Defiants? Sounds like Sisko may just go sterile along with most of the DS9 crew.

Probably injected... Trek injections protect against everything, from age and viruses to assimilation.
Dax's Goa'uld probably protects her.

Those injections didn't quite protect against tachyons (wait a minute, weren't those particles seen used multiple times in TNG? Picard was worried about his family line in Generations...

I knew it! Dax isn't really half and half with that Trill, it's just an evil alien using her body to fulfill evil plans against Starfleet. 50% host 50% trill my ass.

Man, what happened to this thread?
It went quiet. And I thought this was the kind of thread everyone would like.

Well, I was thinking of changing my fav ship. The one I posted was rather far fetched. Simply. I'd reather have a Seattle Class.
