Is there an estimate on when the next version of Fleet Operations will be released?  I'm kind of getting excited to try it out.  Also, are there any positions open for Beta-Testers?  I know I'm not that good online, but I've had experience with beta-testing other games and mods for games.  But I would like an estimated release date if it's possible.

Estimated release:

Between the time when Boggz writes this post and the time when Boggz dies .

You can count on it being between those times :woot:

Hmm, if i had to make a guess, i would have to say, i think it will be released "soon"

Id imagine the dev team would concur with me on that one....

i think he did

tho to be fair i wouldnt mind waiting another few months for the next proper patch  but i WOULD liek to see the fix for passives and the dodes weapons  as a mini patch (if the next main patch is a long ways off)  it would make multiplay go back to normal and not spam the adais or ablatives due to massive stacking boosts due to the bugs and make replays better to watch (and comentate on as u gotta think more)

Come on TCR. Really? We all know the answer: Soon.

Or, more precisely: in Integral(Now->Now+Soon, dTime) :D

LMAO!! This is the typical answer with a GPL project. It's so funny, because the similarities are there, in terms of development and release strategy. Unlike corporate entities, that have to meet deadlines, goals, and bottom lines, most privately created programs are released on one of three time lines :

soon™
when I feel like it / get around to it™ -or-
when it's ready™

I've been waiting on a release of another game I play that IS GPL for two years now

Oh that is hysterical. We have to ask you this more often so we can get more witty responses.

Can you at least give an estimate on what quarter of the year that the next release will be?  "Soon" is not a valid answer.

Soon is between now and later.
