I loved the Fusion Cube, especially the Tactical version. The Fusion doesn't fit most races, but Borg I can imagine doing it. The Borg equivilant of the Tavara.

The Fusion-types would be perfect for destroying bases too resistant to Assimilation.

What base is currently not possible to be destroyed with just 3 cubes? I personally do not oppsose the fusion cube idea, but in FO there's nearly no need for it, especially because it would be the perfect target for roms and feds.

Any base that is well defended by a competent player would be hard to destroy. Some people seem to forget that a powerful ship is useless if the enemy is good enough. Plus, regular Cubes are equally tempting targets.

In quite a few interpretations/representations of the Borg, all cubes are fusion cubes. They start with smaller cubes, that fuse to form bigger ones... Although, in all of them, the bigger cubes looked identical to the smaller ones (in stock A2, i didn't understand why fusion cubes had gaps/framework between the cube pieces...)

However, in FlOps, it's really not necessary.

Are you arguing FOR or AGAINST fusion cubes? The rest of your post implies you're for it, but the quoted sentence answers it pretty well, lol.

how about having scout cubes combinins into a cube

or a 4 cube fusion cube?

How would 4 even work? You need at least 8 to get a symmetrical cube, no?

Then it would be a fusion rectangle!

And yes, this is the second time we've done this little number. :borg:

Fusion rectangular prism is what it would be. I remember at the height of my modding, I made one. What it was was 4 TFC's put together.

That bit was about 3 Cubes being able to take out any base.

I think it would be cool to build 8 pyramids (4 sided) and have them fuse into a cube (uber or otherwise) and have the base of each pyramid be a face on the cube, it would look cool and be a way to get a cube early in the game but at the sacrifice of money.

Speacking of Fusion Cubes, what happened to the Command Cube?

Surely you'd only need 6, as a cube only has 6 faces? Also, do pyramids actually fit together in a cubic shape? I can't quite get the imagine in my head to imagine it

6 sounds a more likely number than 8. They do fit if they're the right shape.

Ahh cool :) Spatial geometry never was my strong point

Six? A cube may have 6 faces, but 8 cubes of the same size are still needed to make a perfect square  :whistling:
