What will be after the Sona?
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

The 3rd Avatar for the Dominion is planned to be the Sona. As details are vague. I can only wonder, if there are going to be four avatars per race. May I ask then, what will be the 4th Faction?
Is it possible to include the Orions since some Orion cindicates actually had some connections with the Dominion (proved canon when Myles O'Brian was undercover in a DS9 episode). It'd be interesting to have ideas what some of the modern Orion star ships may look like, or if not ships, what various benefits they'd have in store for the Dominion.
Anyone here agrees with me?

I didnt think the orion had any ships of their own design.

No, but they could acquire more or less powerful ships from the blackmarket or other "sources".
However, a fourth avatar for the Dominion should be more special as the Breen for example are almost completely unknown and the Son'a are apparently very few but powerful individuals with genetic technology the Dominion would actually benefit from. The Dominion won't profit from going along with smugglers and other criminals, they'd only trade with them.

Well, since we have the Vorta general (Puretech) maybe there will be a founder avatar who have some nice espionage options. Or a Jem'Hadar avatar that get some nice boarding bonuses, Anything is possible.... cant wait to see what the devs come up with. :woot:

Founders don't take part in battles, so in FO it would be pointless to "field" a founder. The puretech-avatar already has the espionage-ability with the superior hyperspace sensor-system.
And Jem'Hadar are only leaders in ground combat and boarding parties, but not in space-combat. Their ships still are commanded by the Vorta.
So what you suggested is basically already the whole puretech-avatar.

Thats what I would like to see a founder who directly sizes control and a Jem Hadar general who doesnt require a Vorta.

Enterprise disagrees, having Orion Interceptors. The Starfleet Command series also had Orion ships. They were a regional power before the Federation came along, after all.

@RER - when an avatar is selected it doesn't mean they get directly involved in a battle. We saw in DS9 founders directing strategy with the Vorta simply acting as liaison with the Jem'Hadar.
Also remember that FO is set after the whole DS9 era. Possible the founders decided to start breeding some more smart Jem-Hadar who are capable of acting as strategists on a large scale.

However the Orions may not have ships that add anything to the Dominion that's special in terms of unique weaponry or better than their own ones unlike the Son'a will with their subspace weapons.

As far as I remember it was only the female founder and also it never appeared that this particular founder was in danger of being attacked. In general founders stay on their homeworld or replace political important men and women on the homeworlds of major factions.

Ask the devs about that, the guide doesn't tell such a thing in any way.

four avatars are planned per race.
i doubt the orion syndicate would still be working with them as they were forced back to the gamma quadrant by the treaty at the end of the war.
a jemhadar elder would be interesting as an avatar i think. we would need to split puretech into vorta and jemhadar commanders then
probably with improved boarding capabilities, so boosts for the war frigate would be nice. maybe their v13 could have some boarding power too, within balance of course. they would also like brute force weapons, maybe their support ships would get no bonuses (or they could cost more etc) but their simple ships like bug and v13 would get boosts instead. other ships could get ramming too, maybe as the jemhadar love killing themselves.

Elder Jem'Hadar seem to mellow out slightly from their time as 'recruits'. A faction ruled by them would likely be a little calmer and wiser than the ones normally seen, especially wiser.

true but they would have all the traits of jemhadar instead of vorta. like being willing to die, and having excellent close quarters abilities, which is why i suggested boarding bonuses.
the vorta avatar would probably have better support ships and specials etc.

Actually Orions do have ships of their own. In fact Orions have a commercial shipbuilding industry that has been alluded to several times. Also there is some speculation as to who the ferengi bought warp-drive technology from. It has been rumored that it was either the Orions or the Breen. So even though the Orion pirates might not design and build their own ships, it would be simple to obtain them as their race are known for building commercial, luxury and all-purpose spacecraft for sell to private investors. In fact, the mysterious black ship that was stealing parts from a starfleet depot in ST: TNG "Unification"
(also known as the Vulcan cruisers in BOTF) was labeled as an Orion cruiser in one of Doug Drexlers design sketches published in star trek magazine.

Since FO takes place after pretty much all ST canon, I think it would be interesting if one of the planned NPC's that you'd not expect to be allied with the Dominion ends up being allied with the Dominion. Some examples could be the Gorn and Hydrans. I guess I feel the 4th Dominion avatar should be something more original then just another Dominion commander and should stick with the current pattern of smaller races being aligned with the Dominion.

I don't know much about the Hydran Kingdom, but aren't they friendly with the Federation?
