some ideas for iconians

after reading this intelligence report i think about some things for the iconians
here my ideas :
1) the resources
in this intelligence report i read that the iconians have no need for collecting resources they warp in their vessels from the future or parallel universes
but what about giving them an unique resource like the borg and their collective connections
i'm thinking about something what is needed to open this temporal rifts for warping in ships ... some kind of generator inside their main structure which generates some kind of chroniton particles and you can only warp in a ship if the generator is fully charged
this generator could be upgraded in two ways, first to decrease the time needed to fully charge the generator and secondly to generate the particles in a more advanced way to warp in ships from other, technological more advanced timlines
2) the weapons
i would be very happy to see iconian ships using this sweet chroniton torpedos shown in voy - year of hell as standard torpedoes
3) mixed tech
two ideas for federation players who has access to iconian technology
first i think it would be funny to replace tricobalt torpedoes or acs torpedoes with chroniton torpedoes
and secondly i'm thinking of the premonition class with its temporal stasis field as a special mixed tech unit

Maybe have Special Energy as a form of resource?

good ideas, but for the time-portals:
what if building a ship creates a portal, like he 8472 ones. they cost a different amount of special station slots, the more, the bigger the ship. if the ship is ready, the portal dissapears and you get your slots back. this way you can build e.g 3 destroyers at he same time, but only 2 cruisers or one battleship
then you have upgrades: one to fasten the time your ship builds, and one that highers you special stations cap.
what do you think of this?

I dont understand quite what you mean with the slots dna42, but the idea of building multiple small ships at once sounds interesting.
Im not sure if I like the idea of Iconians not using resources at all though. Limiting them that much on production could make them incredibly weak in late game where each other player is running 3-5 shipyards at capacity. Lets not even talk about an unlimited resource match. Its a good idea, but I think this would be a royal pain to balance.

with the slots it is like mixed tech, or veteran slots.
you have a amount of slots (e.g 20) and every timeportal needs a special amount of slos, like a Exselsior_II needs more vet slots than a saber.
if the ship comes out of the portal, the portal destroys it self, you get your slots back. i thoght this would be kinda nice becuse it was implied that the iconians wont really build a base, they have only their big main station, so building multiple yard wont be possible.

In normal games that problem could be overcome by building multiple rift generators. If creating a rift takes extrmly much time, lets say 7 minutes, and there could only be one buildup at once, a lategame expansion was possible but no explosive expansion. In case of unlimited resources such a problem could be solved by inventing a resource like this iconian timeline's "priority", a reaource that limits the number of rifts active t once.

Well, I would like to see how the devs come up with the computer virus thingy... it'll be kinda like something that implants itself into the ship like grav mines and stuff like that. The implantment is permenant until the vessel is repaired (besicaly the yard will reset the computer). But while it is still active the Virus will be shutting down systems at random, and cause gradual damage which may eventually overtake the ship if not fixed soon.

As Tyler said, we dont know what the probe was for. It is highly likely that it was not a virus at all, but as LaForge hypothesized "a completely incompatable computer system"

Speaking of chroniton torps, what exactly would the Icionians use as weapons?

The Iconian’s technology is split into two sectors. On the one hand, they have psionic and transcendent capabilities. On the other, they can access highly advanced technology like time travel or chronoton disruptors. The Iconians are arrogant, psionic sorcerers who plot revenge and seek to dominate their home galaxy again.
EDIT: oops, forgot to mention, your guess is as good as mine - the information is dated and subject to change as the Iconians have not been integrated into FO yet

Yes, yes, I understand how the Iconians would use weapons, (temporal crud, and some sort of psionic powers) but what do those weapons do, and what kind of effects would they have?
