How about the romulan turret gets a special that makes it decommission for full resources?

So if you want to use them without a singularity transmitter, you just build one, then when it's out of shots you decom it and build it again!

On a more serious note, that would be pretty epic.  The absolute worst case scenario is, you wall off your base with them in the beginning, then decom them all and build a fleet to attack your enemy...which isn't really romulan style...

Blast.  Oh well, it's fun to imagine...

Maybe they could get a second turret that decoms for full resources, has limited shots, and DOESN'T get recharged by a singularity transmitter.  Maybe it's a particle weapon and you have to BUY extra ammo.

Comments?

I think Boggz idea in new thread about this is better.Your is little bit too crazy no offense

I think the most Romulan turret stunt would be a ship flies up to a moon, and puts thousands of plasma torpedo launchers on it.  That's even a canon stunt...done to their allies in the middle of the dominion war.

Treacherous little things.

They are great as you cant see them making it harder to find a gap in the defensive network...

Yes, cloaked firing will lead to superpwnage once a dozen of the things get put in one place, but that's a huge expense of resources to get, and you had no mobile cloak detect. If you attack before there are many turrets, then kill the generator or the miners, the Romulan will be in a world of hurt for wasting resources. It's not like Disruptor Rhienns, where they can run away and continue to build up. Ideally, I think you should kill a singularity gen once there are more than three rom turrets around it, but only after killing any miners and Rom fleet ships in the area. Three or less turrets and I just ignore the whole defense setup.
