everyone is entitled to their own equally valued opinion. i was saying mine disagrees with yours, not that it's more important than yours.
i have used these turrets ocassionaly, and they are in my opinion a good turret system if u use them for what they are designed for. if u use them for the same purposes as dominion perimeter u will fail as they are different. they also cant win on their own, no turret system in fleetops is designed to replace a fleet. just to delay enemy til fleet arrives.

Guys, while I agree that the Romulan defensive system could stand to be a little more easily deployable, all nonsense you guys are spouting is really becoming crude and offensive.
Just relax and consider that MAYBE you haven't figured out a way to make it work yet.

I don't use many turrets as they aren't really a part of my strategy, but from what I can tell they are really unique and nice

The what-now, Vegeta?
The Dragon-ba...... nevermind ....
@Dob - there is no secret. You are clearly wanting to use them like Fed Turrets and they just aren't that way. Put 1 of them up at an expansion and it will distract enemy fire as well as be a good early repellent. Once you've got your expansion better established with another yard and a mining or something you can always build a second turret and a transmitter. Use the transmitter as a refueling station of sorts for ships like your Rhienns or Leahvals/Griffins to regen special energy after repairing at the yard.
Romulans were not made to play like the Feds. The turret just got a great stat boost and that's to help it provide cover in the early stages of the game. A single turret will do just that: and cheaply. Once it's out of energy you can always build the transmitter or a few more turrets. They are cheap and fast to build. Don't build them against Borg

I killed an Assimilator with about 4 of them, including an artillery one (eventually).
Not that I recommend trying it...

Notably, it's still the goal. I very much prefer a longer, more strategic playthrough, rather than a 'smash fast, smash now!' rush-based game. Part of my love for FFA games. Rush strats break down, and total commitment of all your forces becomes suicide. Of course, I also like private messages to be off for FFA games so that alliance brokering doesn't happen. (in theory...VOIP tends to ruin that).

I played as Feds only one in my life,my least favorite race.Romulans turret should not be the same but should offer kinda similliar for power for the money

Well, personally i think its great how all the different races turrets are different is special ways. I don't mind having to build the battery, and indeed it is great to have one around even without turrets to give your specials a recharge.
I wouldn't complain if the turret was a touch more powerful, but happy with it as it is. Romulans are not meant to be a static defensive race, they are raiders and turrets should never be a major part of their strategy.

Lol I got an idea...
How about the romulan turret gets a special that makes it decommission for full resources?
So if you want to use them without a singularity transmitter, you just build one, then when it's out of shots you decom it and build it again!
On a more serious note, that would be pretty epic. The absolute worst case scenario is, you wall off your base with them in the beginning, then decom them all and build a fleet to attack your enemy...which isn't really romulan style...
Blast. Oh well, it's fun to imagine...
Maybe they could get a second turret that decoms for full resources, has limited shots, and DOESN'T get recharged by a singularity transmitter. Maybe it's a particle weapon and you have to BUY extra ammo.
Comments?
