Well, they weren't killed. They were subjugated (invaded, taken over) by the Klingons. They are still around though, they were mentioned once in DS9.

You could create a storyline on how the Gorn became free by saying Klingon forces were spread too thin during the Dominion War, allowing the Gorn to regain control of their homeworld or something.
You could say the same thing about the Ferengi. Because of the war, the Ferengi decided to beef up their military in order to protect the Alliances' numerous "investments".

i think they improved their military.. cause, remember the first marauder in the shows, they got just photon torps, and later quantum torps... so i think their not so stupid that they don´t or wouldn´t

The Feringi have Quantum Torpedos? Would'nt supprise me with all the stuff they trade.

Sorry for not posting in a while, my mother past away and I needed to attend to a few things.
No I was not kidding about the Ferengi being playable in Beta 3.My project is completely independant of Fleet Operations team.I do have them ready to go as soon as Beta 3 is released so that I can update them to that standard as far as the Fleet Ops team has made changes.
I am not apart of the FO team but I do have the capasicity to mod Armada 2, I've been doing since Nov. 2001.
There are plenty of TNG style Gorn ships avaliable to make them playable and I do have access to that material.
I sent Optec 50 new animated planets that were put together.Whether he uses them or not is up to him.I plan to use them for myself nevertheless.
Keep in mind that I am the person who put the Shockwave mod together so anything is possible with me.

the "true" Fleet Ops Ferengi will be released wit beta4 as a major non-playable-race.. they will provide mercenaries, neutral stations and independent np-players

Wow Bubba! Modding a Mod...sweet...I might have to try out your Ferengi.
Optec, what exactly does "independent np-players" mean? What I took it as was not only will the ferengi be mercenaries and provide some neutral stations to capture, they will also be a major non-player race, complete with different ships and stations.
My question is, how big will the Ferengi and other major np-races(Tholians, Breen, Cardassians etc.) be? Will they be as big and distinct as the player races, or will they just be a command station and shipyard with 2-3 ships for each race?

well for beta4 there are 2 types of np races planed:
"normal" np races can appear on maps as random choosen starships which guard resources or something (note we are working on that random selection stuff, but it's not sure if it's possible yet) and a few of their ships will be hireable as mercenaries and there may be a few neutral stations named like them ("tholian dilithium cracking facility" or something)
"major" np races can also appear as randomly choosen starships, mercenaries and neutral stations, but they can also appear on maps with a complete base, like a normal player does. they will also be able to mine, build starships and attack, independent from the players or ai players which participate at that game. (note these np-bases have to be placed by the map creator and are fixed while the single ships are randomly choosen)

Now thats pretty cool. Anyone remember the third mission (think thats it) of the A2 campaign where yor right next to the Romulan Neutral Zone and if you cross it twice the Romulans would send fleets to attack you. Think something like thats possible here? Where a race will be controlling some space or resources and if you try to mine or attack guard ships they'll try to wipe out out. Hmm?

Wow. Optec, you have impressed me once again. Fleet Ops is going surpass games coming out on the market!
I really hope random selection works. I think it will add alot of excitment to the game.
