Plz Poll New Ship

Lets analyze this. NX-2000 Excelsior, the first ship with a transwarp drive. Green Necelles...no. Green Necelles is a fan made color which looks retarded. Excaliber ships are not real ships therefor anything that says they turn green is irrelevant.

And trust me, if I had my way, FO would be pure realism with few special weapons and awesome ship battles. I try to keep as many fake ships out as possible, Optec usually doesn't liten but i'm still gonna try to keep the trek feeling.

@SSA yep some of my fav designs in FO are the non-cannon ones. the canaveral's redesign only strenghtens my belief that in some cases uncannon ships can realy add something special to a mod (a sort of artistic licencing if you will )

non-cannon can add a bit of flavor to a mod, too much non-cannon can kill a mod with over flavoring. but i don't think we have reached the over flavoring point yet, we still have a ways to go.

as far as the transwarp thing goes, the Excelsior transwarp program was killed by scotty so we don't know what happens to the nacelles when transwarp is turned on, they could turn green. we just don't know.

They could turn yellow with black smiley faces all over too...YOU DON'T KNOW. I don't see why they would change to ANY other color at all. And since Transwarp is instantanious, there wouldn't be enough time to look out a window and check. As we both see, the excaliber in the picture is not in transwarp, but has green necelles...

Maybe it has to recharge before you can use it, so maybe when it starts to charge they change color. but after this post i will stop responding to the green colored nacelles. we don't know what happens with transwarp on federation ships, or what changes the ship goes through before during or after, and it kinda ticks me off when people use absolutes where they don't belong.

The Excaliber with Green Necelles is the Transwarp Version. Excaliber Class ships have normal warp, and Transwarp, thus they can use both, so when Transwarp is activated the necelles turn green rather than blue.

Also, you mention 'no more fake ships' - FO has fake ships anyway so what does it matter?

becides this being true if a ship is a good model and has good textures why not add it??? keeping the authenticity of the game to the movie line is a good idea but if you do that you limit your ship choices. as long as the game looks good who is to complain.

i still think the promethesus is the way to go

Theres are a TON of federation canon ships, their the only race that doesn't need uncanon ships. Why kick out some canon ones to put in unreal ones?

if people only used cannon federation ships in mods, then any mod would look to similar to tell it apart from any other mod, at least when you play the feds. and a modder has the artistic whatever to add there little or big touches to the game.

but to tell you the truth, i would love to see some new orleans, ambassador refits, and lakota (that can’t be how it’s spelled, that newer refit excelsior -DS9 eira) class ships in this mod, but they're a bit outdated for it.

Every other mod HAS uncanon ships. So keeping them only would be something new.

I also wanted the New Orleans, Ambassadore, Excelsior (with or without the Lakota or Enterprise upgrades), Centaur, Miranda, and a few other classes.

I don't have that much of a problem with non-canon ships, yet as it has been said, to make it all canon you would have one **** of a problem. Say you added the Cardassians as a race... you have uh... three ship classes...

Then you decide to add the Breen... you have uh... oh yea, just the one ship!! (a little screwed)!

Also, Green Necelles... If i remember, the Excelsior Transwarp never went on, thus the necelles would not have gone green. I said that they change colour when in transwap mode, the Excelsior never got to that stage!

Well congrats Supa, there won't be a cardassian main race. Problem solved. Anyway I don't have a problem with non canon ships for other races, it's races that have planety of them, namely, the federation.

You don't know if the necelles would have gone green, or purple, or black...

True, but considering the Borg are a fan of Transwarp, whenever they are suing it, it tends to be green. Thus green is suited to the idea.

and i can understand where you are coming from regarding the federation and their massive amounts of ships!

even if the feds had transwarp FO dosen't eve use WARP so i think this issue is moot...
