I like the idea of a modified tractor beam (sounds like a primitive version of the Holding beam), I'm just curious if it builds up from the normal like a weapon or appears from nowhere like a passive.
im gonna say it starts with nothing, like now. dont want too many ships with tractors in combat.

I wonder which ship will get this for the klingons. there are oh so many options...
yup only large ships would have the power to hold a small ship. and it therefore is available later in the game.
and i never said for klingons, it could be for any non borg race. as borg already get holding beams

oh... mine wasn't a serious reply. i was just talking. Klingons are a non-borg race, if they were to get your option... there is bortas and neghvar to choose from for large ships that might get it.
I wasn't disagreeing with your choice for a large ship, or anything.

u forgot the luspet, which is also large. but it already has its neat stuff to do with breaking shields. klinks probably have enough unique stuff i think.
maybe romulans could get it?

D'deridex, Norexan, Cehlaer, Eresis & Tavara. Personally, I'd say the D'deridex and Eresis would be the best bets.
The Cehlaer screws with the interface, the Norexan can become a Pulse-based warship and the Tavara is the Tavara.

how does the cehlaer screw with the interface?
i'd go for big d since it's so big.

It screws with the part that tells the affected ships what to do. Partial interface screw, since the buttons and mouse that controls them are part of the interface.

true. luspet is just for martok though.

what special are you talking about?
the guide only lists disruptor bombardment, which just makes it stop and ignore orders for the duration. the officer and vet passives dont affect the interface.

new idea, new post.
Extend Range:
gives the ship an increase in range, short and medium get long range, while long range gets arty, at the cost of dealing only 80% of normal damage. lasts x seconds, where x is adjusted for balancing. i would guess around 10 seconds maybe. would use a lot of special energy.
basically u can give this ranked ship a long range to bombard from afar for a short time. which would matter as this ship should have a relatively high dps being ranked.

The buttons and mouse that tell it what to do are part of the interface, that's why I class it as partial interface interference; because the part if the interface that tells it what to do don't work while the weapon is in effect while the rest still works.

fair enough, its not how i would think of it, but the logic isnt wrong.
i agree the cehlaer is unique enough, the big D could use something really nice in addition to its current special, which is practical but doesnt feel as fun.

For the Nebula with a sensor pod
Fleet Monitor: As it levels up, add the ability to lock the sensors in the on position.
Sensor Sweep: If possible, add a rotating 'line' of visability at double the range of the sensor pods 360 view (less than 1/4 of a full circle on the map), but it only works by rotating 360 around the vessel. Otherwise, larger version of the Venture scan mode. Prehaps as leveld up, ability to lock it on, with less weapon penalty as level goes up. Also, prehaps have the tachyon ping cost special energy as well, less each level, with veteral status allowing it to continualy and automaticly send pings out in this mode, or any scan mode.

Another one for the B'rel. Upon Veteran rank, the brel will send out a gravition marker once per minute if an enemy ship is in range. It's been modified, so that it also gives sensor data on the ship that it is attached to. Must refresh cycle or go to a yard to remove the marker as before. Basically would work along the same principles as the T-15s officer ability.

oh dear that would get seriously annoying lol.

Haha, Perhaps. I really liked the graviton marker, although it's not the easiest thing to balance. I was also thinking it could only be used while uncloaked.
