Stations should be able to defend themselves, but only in the early game against a force of two or three destroyers (Sabers, etc) to prevent rushing.

For the Borg, I'd say either the Unimatrix ability needs to be automated (ship gets in range, it gets holding beamed automatically, no need to micro it) or it needs to affect more than just the main starbase, transmission matrix, and...the one that lets you build ships.  I forgot it's name.

Very few things are as annoying as building a wall of those things so you can try to assimilate incoming fleets, and then having to micro every single one of them.  Especially since their captures tend to die instantly because they lose their shields and don't recharge them quickly.

So maybe the more bars, or vets you get, the less your shuttles will attack.

since we're discussing stations, and realism, didnt you guys ever notice that Voyager had borg bases all connected,.... you guys have no ideas about borg in-game realism?

The whole ideas of having disconnected station is more than unrealistic, as stations are nor made for moving independently and would surly do better wit a common shielding.

I think that is not even a gameplay purpose but only a programmers, who didn't like to introduce a mechanism for connecting stations.

Serpicus, I was just going to tell you how that Idea has been done before, but suprise suprise, it was you who started that awsome thread.  I think it is a great Idea and very possible.

hmm, so maybye for borg, there all built off of another, and to make a new groupd besides mining, you need to build a special hub?

we talked about this back before v3 came out and the mods decided that it wasnt possible to do without having a chance to lose all of your stations in one attack
