It's just annoying when you Shift-select units to find that elevation changes too. It just makes things more simpler.

They might be able to do it if they're able to change things like the menu and the ability to have all moons on infinite.

having all moons infinite is EASY to do! The menu is tricky but it is not all too difficult if you are good with graphics.
As for what you are sudjesting that is part of the game engine however it maybe editable in the Input.map file. For example you can change the button you press to change a ships height (SHIFT) to something else like H (for height)

Oh, I thought they had to change around the coding to make all moons infinite. I guess you guys just used the infinite moon setting from the map editor.

On another note, perhaps also they could change it around so that the ship's purpose is displayed instead of just weaponry, shield points, and numbers. Let's face it - as far as players are concerned, they're there for comparative reasons - no one's going to do the math and find out how many shots that Sovereign will use to smash that Assimilator.

So instead, a brief description of the role maybe should replace weapon strength and raw data. For instance, for the Monsoon class: "Short-range heavy destroyer. Effective at [unit-type]. Fires two phaser beams simutaneously. Uses Hyper Impulse Drive ability" or something along those lines.

well that is easy to do, just a case of fiddling the the strings file and changed what the tool tips say to a more traditional tooltip style. Indeed if you see a mod by Major A Payne he always has his tooltips saying somethin short like.

Sovereign Class
Federation Command Battleship

instead of increasing the unbuildable sections around the wormhole. why not create a special weapon that goes through the wormhole and does massive shockwave damage to anything around it? that is if it can be done.

that would be too backstabing, there would be no defence against this weapon, besides destroying the weapon itself.

Besides, people would build a fleet of them and park them outside wormholes and blow up anything that enters them. Difficult especially if you're boxed in with asteroids and a wormhole is your only entrance in/out.

Yeah, I'm just proposing that they add descriptions to it instead of just giving us numbers that we ultimately will use for comparison purposes only...unless someone here actually calculates damage out?

then it would be a reason not to build stuff around a wormhole. and incase you misunderstood me. all this weapon will do is fly through one entry point and explode on the other side. maybe it shouldn't do massive damage, or maybe it should disable stations for a short amount of time or something.

well if the weapon does only minimum damage it's useless, since the wormholes are usually well protected and can not be compromised by that.

that weapon is also impossible to make with out source code editing, the closest you are going to get is a weapon like the cardie missile but that can go anywhere got just target stuff the other side of a wormhole.

Then maybe we'll just increase number of unbuildable spaces around the wormhole.

increasing the footprint of the wormhole is a good idea but may cause problems if they are the ones in nebulas.

Not really, since you can't build in nebulae anyway.

superweapons are a no no anyway. see old posts

Superweapons are out? That's good. But they're keeping in the special race-specific abilties, right (like the Federation Stardock, Klingon Battle Planning, Borg Transwarp Conduit, and Romulan Cloak Enhancer)? Or are those the superweapons they're getting rid of?
