If a player attempts to put down a building on unbuildable space, you get the "Unable to build" message, but you don't go back to the menu. Keep the building silhouette there so you can pick another location. It's frustrating when you have to re-navigate the menus to try and place the building again.

Along the same lines, check to see if the player has sufficient resources to put down the building when you click the building to put down. It's irritating when you put down that starbase, watch your slow construction ship crawl to the space only to get the message "Insufficient Dilithium"...

Make an option to make the game 2D. Eliminate the 3rd plane completely. (I remember reading somewhere that it was supposed to be 2 planes, but for some reason mine's still 3D)

Totally agree with you, I would also like to add another point to that. When ships are in the way to making a building, LET THEM MOVE ON THEIR OWN dont show me the stupid cant build there pop-up, sometimes even con ships who are supposed to build the station are in their own way, I mean WTF

Anyhow I dont think that is possible, cause u'd prolly have to temper with the game engine to fix that and that, they cannot do, sadly. Its really irritating :(

yeah :(
what i find most irrotating is that ships building a turret wall, want to move in a straight line, that means they want to move where the turrets are, cousing them to shift up or down, so of you have 2 ships building the wall it will get screwed up and could even couse it too look as if the turrets are one on top of the other  But while const ships do that, MY SHIPS won't. They will avoid the turrets and go ALL around the **** wall to fight the enemy, most of the times, especiall if playing vs 4 or more borgs or klingons it's too late.

there is a 3d but it is small and just not used, its there for things like planets etc so that they are not in your face and so ships dor go through them instead of over them if you get my drift

With my (limited) experience with programming, my main suggestion (as in, click on a build building icon, THEN having it tell you not enough resources) involves simply moving the line of code which checks your available resources to earlier, as soon as you click the button. Of course, I doubt it's as simple as that (as I'm a mere Grade 11 student who's studied Visual Basic)

Regardless, minor edits like this to the engine can definately make ST:Armada much more enjoyable. They might seem insignificant, but they go a long way in making players not so irritated.

In addition I found that the Klingons lack artillery. Maybe you guys could give 'em some. I also spot a lot of minor spelling errors throughout the game and site. Consider the description for the Federation repair ship (Newton-Class): "Can mine repair all Vessels and Stations", "booth" instead of "both", "to" instead of "two" (for the Monsoon-Class), etc. Some also lack spaces ("memberplanets" instead of "member planets", etc...

they can not edit the engine, since it is illegal. Keep reporting spelling errors, the'll fix it ;)

Some private servers on MMORPGs I used to paly (Ragnarok Online, for example) managed to edit their servers, but maybe that was a special case...

well i wouldn't really know about that, all i know is that editing the armada engine is illegal, yeah if you use it only for yourself or/and your friends you could do it, but with the mod like FO people would notice.

If that's true then I doubt these things'll change...the only group who can help us at this point is Activision or Mad Doc or whoever. And they're probably too busy to release another patch that'd do minor things like this... -_-

i think fleet ops should be given special permition to edit the games engein, our even be given the source code on the understanding that they are not to profit from there work, pass the source code on and make sure people know the activision can not be held responsible for any damage that they might do to your machine.

What makes you think they'd do that though?

nothing i just think activision should as fleet ops is the biggest mod for it, and the dev have shown a level of understanding and love for the game that would worrent them as being trust worthy, activision could also do it as a thankyou for keeping one of there games alive (generating money for them, eg. you check the price of a2 cd's recently! lol)

well the game can be made 2d plained easily (I think so anyway, I was actually working on making the 3d element more important, lol) As for the other ideas they are all script changes. I am dead against any body having the source code before anyone else personally.
