just put (!) at the end of your sentence, it conveys sarcasm.

like so:

you are such an amazing person tyler (!)

everybody knows at face value that my statement was sarcastic though :P

" :P " also works well

"I know, right!!!!???  Then we should just give Single Stage Energy Cores the ability to knock out weapons and engines 50% of the time because they are aiming for the Warp Core!  It's totally canon!  :woot:"

Do I use that one a lot? :whistling: :D

Here's a list of smileys and what they end up meaning.

 I'm a nice guy, or I'm letting you down easy smiley.
 I'm either genuinely agreeing with you, or I'm being a dick smiley.  You really have no clue what's being implied.
:woot:  Boggz has already demonstrated me! :woot:  Sometimes I could be genuinely excited though.  (See Above)
:whistling: "That's just ironic" smiley.
:( "The patch isn't out yet" smiley.
>:( "The patch came out unbalanced" smiley.
^-^ "I'm a nice guy and don't have to let anyone down easy and genuinely like something" smiley.
B) I just got laid smiley.
:shifty: I think I'm clever smiley.
 This is the smiley that best describes me while reading a post from Gamer.
:pinch: This is the smiley that best describes me while attempting to read a comma laden post from Ray320.
:D I wanted to use this smiley :), but was too lazy to hit the [more] button. :D
:schmoll: My favorite smiley.  Useful for several applications.
;) I am being a total and complete dick.  Useful for only one application.
:sorcerer:  WTF is this?  The fairy smiley? (See Below)
 Seriously??  Really??
:kid: I just watched an episode of TOS.
:P I just watched an episode of TNG.
  I just watched an episode of DS9.
:x  I just watched an episode of VOY.
  A rerun of Nemesis was on the Sci-Fi (SYFY?) channel.
:dead: I channel-surfed onto an episode of Enterprise and didn't click the off button fast enough.

That covers most of the smileys.  The ones I use anyway.  Hurray for smileys!

lawl, we only went off topic for a little while.

what about a sarcasm refit for the eresis? where it acts sarcastic and makes the enemy angry, so they miss more.

Jan, this thread has been off topic since page 1. :D

But now that you've made me read it again >:(, i must say that I agree with Boggz's first post.  I'm not super keen on a refit for the D'deridex.  I like how it has beams and torpedoes and wouldn't want to see that changed.  If I were to make different styles of the Big D, I would do it using the avatar bonuses.  Mijural might give extra defense, or helev gives extra damage to the torpedoes, or Sela has gogo girls and stripper poles on her ships, just like in Tony Stark's jet. ^-^

I wouldn't mind seeing the cehlar and the erisis get refits, just because their stats are a bit wimpy to me.  But the Norexan, D'deridex, and Tavara all seem pretty decent to me.  Perhaps these battleship style refits either give them additional specials, or increase their system value so that they can use their abilities more often.  With the addition of high density shield generators, the cehlar's special isn't as useful as before.  It only lasts about 6 seconds and then takes quite a while to recharge.  This would make these "weaker" battleships a little stronger, but still unique.  It would require the upgrade facility perhaps to get the research, so you couldn't make the refits right after building the warbird yard.

Yeah I just feel like there are enough Romulan Battleships right now to cover all the Weapon Combinations.  A Big D refit spectrum is a neat idea, but one that would need very specific and unique purposes, of which I don't believe simply changing the weapons would be one.

Seems to me that, since the Rommie ships are still going to be on the extremely expensive range of the battleship lineup, they have something that makes each one very valuable in it's own way.

Right now the Big D's Stealth field is very "ho-hum" as it is a very minor effect given how expensive the vessel is.  I use it mainly to draw fire away from the more expensive vessels and for it's powerful torpedo-based weaponry.

I believe the Stealth Field will actually have a different usage relatively "soon" as well :)

I would also like to see the Disruptor Bombardment get an increased time of usage, by maybe a second or two - and more special stuff for the other battleships would and will be nice.

For such a vessel that epitomizes (or has for the past century), imho, the backbone of the Romulan armada, it would still be kinda cool to see a few different versions of the grand D'deridex.  After all, we kinda have 'seen' them used in a variety of different missions over the shows... like the one that destroyed it's engines to get to gomutu (or whatever that blob was called), a small task force to annihilate the founds failworld, defense of the Romulan homeworld, supply running to the klinks in their civil war with dem big titted sisters, shadowing dr galen (or was that valen from b5???) in 'the chase' and on and on.

Anyway, maybe not so much about weapons but purpose?
1) Say a stock run-of-the-mill warbird.
2) A speedy warbird; 'covert operations' type perhaps, the sort sela is always sneaking around in to deceive the enemy with holographic ruses and sensor ghosts etc
3) A fleet warbird; 'ship of the line' - who's ability may affect a fleet command or somehow supports it
4) A slower defense warbird; 'defender of the homeworld' type model, could lay mines?  Don't know, my ideas on specials are running out at this late hr.

Oh well, just a few ideas, I'd like to use the big D more, but just seem to end up using donatra's sweet ride so much more cos the norexan has more bang for the buck.  B)
