There must be something wrong with me...I love it!

Although I think Daedalus looks nicer, this one would fit in with the timeline (sort of).
However I can see this would not be popular, so don't put it in on my account!

i actually like the Olympic, its inspired by the very first Federation vessels, the Daedalus. A very classic! :thumbsup:

It may be classic, and a natural medical ship, as I stated, but the question is should it be in fleet ops?

I guess the ship design is okay, finally no saucer section.  :shifty:

But about it´s ability: stop assimilation, i don´t think so, that would be too powerful, unexplainable. (Something like a De-Borgifier on board ?!)

Something else like the idea of recrewing ships seems more fitting, but i suppose that´s not very needed, at least from my point of view.

But consider this, starfleet wouldn´t send rather defenseless medical ships into a hot warzone, they come after the killing is over and salvage what is left.

first off the borg dont assimilate anymore in FO.

Sorry to say this but the borg beams are just  waste. At the moment to have a cube that is a cube you can have at the most 1 holding on board. if you want more you end up having to sacrifice weapon power and armor strength, which will give you a strong vessel, but not one that is quite worth calling a cube. it is more like a powerful diamond then.
If we add the accoutrements that make it a cube vis a vis 1 armor at least, 3 torps, 1 regen or beam, we still have 1 spot left for the holding beam.

At this time transporting 4 borg drones over to an enemy ship is not assimilation.
A1 stock was assimilation...

As sad as that is, an in-game de-borgifier is plain suicide-inducing sorrowful.  :crybaby:

Hm, if we cry loud enough, maybe the FO gods listen to our needs.  :blush:

@Darthashur

Not really stop Assimilation, more issue a kinda of anti-nanobot serum.  e.g. used in "Endgame"

@serpicus

My smaller ships have got assimilated by the AI hard's auto assimlator several times

Actually, for Borg V. Borg battles, you want to go the holding beam route for two reasons: (1) because the enemy cannot do anything while under holding beam and (2) because it uses more tritanium and less dilithium... which for the Borg is good as they use soooo little tritanium after the first 10-15 minutes.

Holding beam also works very well on smaller vesles  :borg:

I agree! I use it as the Federation colony ship in my A2 build. Obviously if it were in FO it would need a different role.  :lol:
