Excalibur Class

I'd much rather have the pathfinder class, or is it Miranda-B class over the current descent class ships.

-to teh-plaf: Ya, the class names are kinda hard to read. It was a whlie before I figured out which class it was!

-to Casper: Ya, no kidding. The Descent is menacing, but it also happes to be kitbashed. I've made out parts from four different starships: The Galaxy, the Sovreign, the Excelsior, and the Akira, all mashed togather. The worst part is the Galaxy saucer. Why coudn't it be a Sovreign or Akira saucer?

And I figured I'd post a list of the frontrunners from my list, in no particular order:

Discovery class
Expedition/Courier class
Insignia class
Jupiter class
Relentless class
Borodin class

Well, do you guys want ships that boldly go, or ships that kick butt?

Because, if you can find other Fed ships that look both dangerous (a MUST for a Dreadnaught), asteticly pleasing (So we don't get another Descent...), AND somewhat cannon-ish (so DOCa and Optec will consider it), be my guest!!!

If modelers are going to do a good "dreadnaught" as you put it they should not all be the akira, sovi, galaxy, ambassador design with little addons like torpedo launchers then need to be truely orginal ships, nothing on that site (and yes I looked at them all and almost scratched out my eyes) looks original or well thought out. Just use a cannon ship.
There is a reason why ILM has the people who design there ships and Mike (can't spell last name) design the ships they do, because they are orginal. There are only a few orginal modelers out there, but they always turn out to be lousy modelers while the good texture/modelers stick to either lousy concepts or cannon ships

I'm not a modeler, but if I were you bet I'd make more original ships. But, I'm not, so those are the best we got. If you want more, go find them. It's fine with me. All I want is a good Dreadnaught.

i already posted a poll on the galaxy 3, which in itself was not limited to just that .

#never figured out why the miranda was so popular, it was always portrayed as 2nd best to the Constitution clas, then had to settle for the Bronze medal when the Excelsior class showed up.

in KA i killed 2 Constitution class ship in a bop, and a single one in a klingon attack shuttle, on captain difficulty. (it did take a while to do, but i did it... several times)

and i've ripped Constitution class ship to little bits with a miranda, didn't fare two well with a excelsior because of the aft firing torpedo tubes hurt. but i wasn't killed every single time though.

miranda is the best ship design ever. and it shows at it is used for dacades i think even for 100 years or so and there are still design out there that looks like a miranda
