I am pretty sure this has been discussed before but wouldnt the Excalibur Class be a much more replacement for the controversial Descent class?

Its huge, its meant for battle, and it is the Federation's biggest achievement.

Although this class of ship is non-canon, it is one of the most appreciated non-canon ships out there.. Much better candidate for the kitbashed Descent..Just an opinion though..

A PotD from BCfiles.com, not the best rating, but I like this pic...

I can't stand it. It has green nacelle plasa. In fact, that's specificly why I am not including it in my list of potential Descent replacements. Howerver, change the nacelle color, and it might be a bit better...

----EDIT----

Nevermind, I guess that I was thinking of another ship which looks sorta like it that has the green nacelles. Mabye it's just that I dislike the nacelle structure...

if i remember correctly, in every other game i've seen this in its always been portrayed as quite a bit bigger than the sovie ( think about 1000m or so) but yeah your right i don't really like it much neither -_-

Its not unique at all, I wouldn't be surprised if it was literally just cut and paste from a few different cannon ships, with new-ish textures.

MaP made a version for A2 but I personally don't like the design.

This is a ship that I think would be better suited for bieng a Dreadnaught. Possible Dreadnaught Design?

The Excalibur is cool-looking to some degree, but to me it's the kind of ship that goes into a nebula to collect dust samples, not that kind that'll come over and blast you to oblivion when you drop out of warp.

Hey the MIRANDA looks pretty cool. I saw this ship before, and I figured to myself that it just wouldn't fit anywhere, it doesn't fit the Fed's typical ship look, it looks futuristic actually. It would kind of stick out like a sore thumb against the other ships, kind of like what the descent did :D

Actually, that's not the Miranda. The ship I showed you is referred to on the page as the Courier-class, but the link says it's the Expedition-class. I doesn't matter much, anyway. If it gets into fleet ops, it'll probly get renamed anyway.

If you want to see the REAL Miranda, I'll show you it, just give me a minute to find the link.

Here are links to the Miranda before and after it was refitted:
Pre-refit
Post-refit

And heres a link to the PMEMRPG group that uses it (And runs the starship database I refrence of most often)

Hm, thats strange, cause my friends and I all agree that it is argueably the best non-canon model ever made.

It's my favorite, too. It has that sorta Dreadnaught-like feel to it...

Oh, were you talking about the Excalibur??? oops, I though for a moment you were referring to the link I posted... Oh well, silly me.

Whoops sorry Red, I just looked at the site quickly and the only name I saw was "miranda", now I see that its the courier. W/E I said about "miranda" applies to "Courier" now I guess.
