I actually dont want them to go into anything like this at least untill the FINAL release, even then I wouldnt want them to do this as it wouldnt contribute anything big to the game IMO. But if ya want it and we would be able to turn it off I dont really care :)

Works for me.

That would require a custom set of physics, for each ship...that's a heck of a lot of time.
wouldn't this also increase the loading times, if there are so many different ODFs to load.

Cant you link in physics files though like normal odfs, All they would have to do would be to have one physics file called whatever with the movent parts in and then link it into the others while removing any conflicts. Although I agree this isn't for beta 3

It isn't really its standard with all the odfs, lets take ships for example, you first say have cruise.odf which contains all the parts that are similar to the cruisers then you might have fintrepid.odf which would contain the line #include cruise.odf that means it will start with the cruise.odf and add to it the intrepid.odf to get the final odf. Its really simple and standard procedure when you have lots of ships with similar parts. I think this "battle physics" Idea might be worth looking into.

p.s. hey redshirt you sure are posting alot. you have more posts than me and ive been here about 16 times longer, you sure you arn't ewm in desguise, who can spell

Nah, ewm can't even touch my PPD (posts per day) count. Eufnoc is the only other member who comes remotely close.

eufnoc is the oldest active member: eufnoc aka Nieknight

PS, having a PPD count that is really high just means you seem to have an opinion about everything :P Plus add that to the fact you are completely new, you will undoubtably have ideas, i would imagine that your "PPD" will level out after a while, (unless you resort to spaming threads) :shifty:
