what spare power from what i've read about it the core can barely manage to sustain its current workload. that probably why defiant shields suck :blink:

the thing is it has too many weapons for a ship it's size

Not really too many weapons, but the ones it has are too powerful. Pulse fire torpedo tubes are fine, but the Pulse Phasers are a little on the too powerful side.
