See at about 4:20...
Exactly what we're looking for, and pretty much what I imagine using the pulse turret's sprite looks like!
I can't do it atm, tomorrow maybe. Can it be rotated 90° so that the effect is vertical rather than horizontal?

I modded my defiant to be just like the one that engaged the uber nehgvar from the mirror universe lol. Thats also how I want my defiants phasers to sound
...tomorow I will play around with my defiant and see what works best.

Jeez, that just reminded me all over again how bad the physics were in DS9...

yeah but despite the physics it sure was pretty!!

"You do remember how to fire phasers..."
Man, I love that line! After firing cannons for a long time, returning to phasers must be a big step back!

The pulse phasars in that clip sound very "mild" I must say. Although it would be cannon to include them, I almost enjoy the heavier sounding "battleship" armament that is currently used
. However, that is just an opinion based on sound, rather than what is appropriate... sooooo... I go now

maybe it is just me, but I personally like the 4 pulse fire. maybe I’m biased

We could fave the 4x pulse, but the Defiant need to be stonger, could we just add pulses without reducing damage that the deal out?

Yes of course Gamer: nobody is talking about nerfing the Defiant, these are just cosmetic changes (the 4 pulse fire is neat after all...)

No I mean that each pulse deals the same amount of damage as the previous twin pulses. Doubling the strength of the Defiant.

Meaning a Defiant would be one of the most powerful battleships in game (close to twice as powerful as a Sovereign)? No thank you

I reckon balance-wise the Defiant is pretty much perfect atm.
Could be a little more powerful v. tiny ships like bugs, bops and scouts, but otherwise it's great

Agreed. This is a thread about minor cosmetic changes anyway Gamer, not balance issues. You said it would make the Defiant weaker, but it would just stay the same as it was.

Don't kill me for going off topic but I think the defiant would be better improved if it used attack patterns instead of just trading shots with ships it should move around more as part of its attack. I know this is mentioned in another post but I think power and graphics and soundwise the current defiant if fine, the problem is it doesnt utilize its speed and maneuverability, something that would truly set it apart from other vessels.

Honestly I think it would be nice for most highly maneuverable vessels... but it is unlikely that this sort of thing could be added as it isn't "player controlled" and probably would have to be an animation (aka, the Sabers miss chance would be reflected by seeing the Saber moving about to miss torpedoes passively. If I remember correctly, the Devs were planning on implementing something to make the above scenario more realistic, but I'm not sure how we could ever see B'rels or Defiants zooming around on their own--more an artistic/pretty detail rather than relevant for gameplay (and potentially distracting, who knows).
