Defiant Pulse Phasers

Could the Defiant in later updates use the dual-shot sprite so it looks like it has 4 cannons, like it does in the show?

It would be better than replacing the sprite in every weapon odf after every update.

Why? That would achieve the same effect, but take a lot more work.

Because then it would have to have it's own pulse weapons which did half the damage they did before.

Actually, I have no idea how much work it takes to have a dual-shot sprite, so you know more than me  :sweatdrop:

The Defiant already has it's own weapons, they use the single-fire sprite. All that is needed is to replace sprite = "worangepulsesingle" in the Defiant weapons with sprite = "worangepulsedual" from the Phaser turret weapon odf.

Really simple, but it can be annoying to replace it in every Defiant pulse after each game upgrade.

Why weaken the vessel? Besides, I need a Defiant that is "born to fight". The Feds have quite are pletiful in large ships that do not stand up again even an equally sized chassis of another race. At least have some ship that you can be confident with! I have to send Defiants in pairs or threes to take down another battleship!  :(

This is simply a cosmetic change having no bearing whatsoever with offensive capability.
I am all for it, as the defiant is supposed to fire four pulses.

Certainly this should be implemented, but I'm not sure whether I would prefer a single weapon that fired four at a time. All it would take was a sprite of the right width (and a small HP alteration), then the Defiant would fire all four at once rather than two pairs at different times.

But like I said, I'm not sure it would look as good. And fitting the sprite to the SOD might be difficult. AND can you even have a 3D sprite?! :lol: Then it would have to be an SOD based weapon, like a torpedo......
And so the work builds! :pinch:

A Veteran Defiant fires lots of weapons. cant tell how many pluses though

I tried it and it works perfectly and looks very cool.
