Star Trek: The Final Frontier - Athena Class
I proposed this design earlier as the
Federation Fleet: Khitomer
Perhaps it it worth taking a look at.

Star Trek: The Final Frontier - Borodin Class

Star Trek: The Final Frontier - Eximius Class
Lines and design are a bit too "sharp" for my taste but perhaps others disagree.

Star Trek: The Final Frontier - Falkirk Class

http://www.sttff.net/insignia.html
This one I'd like to see as a light frigate.

http://www.sttff.net/interceptor.html

http://www.sttff.net/ships/magellan.html
A design totally different from what we're used from the federation. Love to see it in.

http://www.sttff.net/valiant.html
I think based on one of the (rejected) Defiant models.

http://www.sttff.net/ships/volga.html
A Runabout with some teeth, that's about it.

http://www.sttff.net/ships/mekhlar.html
Not my favorite Klingon design, but perhaps an option.

http://www.sttff.net/kerchan.html
It's Romulan and different, but that's about it.

The RPG site i retrieved these designs: http://www.sttff.net/starshipdatabase.html
A lot is borrowed from various Sci-fi.

What do yuo folks think of the designs above.

The Kerchan, Insignia, and Interceptor I could see as mixed tech designs (Kerchan: Rom-Dom perhaps, Insignia: Fed-Borg, and Interceptor Fed-Dom) - the others I'm not very fond of.

Although i proposed others the only two designs i would really love to see in FO are the Insignia and Magellan.

The Interceptor looks too similar to the Intrepid only with sharper nacelles pointed forwards. Don't fancy the design.

I like the modular aspect of the Insignia, perhaps a refit-able ship ala nebula. Refit taking place at shipyard of course.

The Magellan look like a plain simply, study workhorse and that is a quality of its own.

A few of these have already been done, so if they aren't added to FO, you can always mod them in.

I like the magellan alot, to me it has all of the classic federation crap, just reimagined, i like the athena too.

For me i think it would be nice to have some variety from the saucer with sticks.  One ship that follows the whole fed re-imagined is the dauntless from voyager: USS Dauntless - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Now i know the argument stands that that ship is not really a federation starship but it was designed by the producers of star trek to be an aliens take on a federation design, a design that incorporated certain federation elements, and did it in such a way that the crew of voyager believed that it was a federation ship.

Well personally, every New series has their own new flavour of Startrek ships. Just compare TNG with TOS and VOY and they are all different. Hell DS9 created the Defiant. So i would prefer a new ship to have its own unique flavour.

That said i do like the Eximius Class (though i don't like the bio. frigate) and the Magellan (and it looks more like a battlecruiser). Though most of the fed ships are just variants of some other ship.

The only ships i don't like are the non fed ships. The klingon is like a k'tinga with extra guns. the Romulan makes less sense. why does it have bent wings that serves no purpose other than a nice target area? If the engineering bay is on the top of the wing, then i wouldn't want to travel the distance to the bridge... Damn that is one long neck. It is almost a Kilometre long!

I am not really a fan of those designs especially the Insigna, as Terra has said some have already been done for Stock A2 so can always be modded in. I would much prefer the Dev's coming up with their own designs.

However that  being said I would personally like to see the following:

Dawnstar as a replacement to the Excelsior II -
Dawnstar Class by *Majestic-MSFC on deviantART | Dawnstar Desktop by ~thunderfoot006 on deviantART
Jigoku as a replacement to the Monsoon model -
The Lone Warrior by ~Jetfreak74656 on deviantART | Welcome to Aspen VII by ~Jetfreak74656 on deviantART

Both models were done by me (textures by Jetfreak) and I plan to make better versions down the road as well.  :D

Dawnstar looks like a Galaxy Class and i never really liked the Galaxy Class design.

The 2nd design is hard to judge from that angle.

Basic configuration yes, but then going by that you can say the Ambassador, Constitution and Excelsior are all the same. It's the classic Federation configuration for explorers.

There are two images from different angles.

It's the basic configuration which i never liked. Bulky like a fat whale.

Looked at 2nd angle. The saucer is similar to the Intrepid which is ok i guess, but the curved struts for the nacelles and the angle of the nacelles are almost Romulan. Can't say i like the design overall. Textures and all are good, but it just seems "off" somehow.

How is the saucer like the Intrepid?

Decent picture of the intrepid saucer
Yeager type - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

With Voyager/Intrepid it looked more stretched because of the hull behind it.
Otherwise, just google Intrepid Saucer

Yes, I know what an Intrepid saucer looks like, thank you. So I'll just repeat my question:

How is the saucer like the Intrepid?

Or to clarify, the Dawnstar's saucer is practically circular. (Have you looked at the first set of images of it?)

So no, it's not like the Intrepids.

So you don't like the classic configuration, you think the pylons are too Romulan is there anything Federation you do like? Federation design generally follows the same principles and overall feel. So if you don't like those I can't see how you'll like anything else Federation or Starfleet.

Considering the hours I put into the model I find it rather annoying that you just dismiss it like that. I can understand not everyone likes every design I do, but I do think that even people who don't like it can have something positive to say about it. I guess you'll never understand how much effort, time and heart goes into a model and texture until you do one yourself and someone just says in not so many words and between the lines that it sucks.

I'll just have to learn that some on here aren't what I am accustom to, and not limit my posts to MSFC and DeviantArt when it comes to showing off what I have and are doing in terms of modding.

Thanks for the response in any case.
