Actually it can be done, its been done with the rhien class. Even guns using special energy can be done because of special weapons like point defense.

I like the idea of the upgradable ships. But thats is what the support class vessels in fleet ops already have in a way. They get an upgrade when you research at the science station.

Yes, Support vessels are upgradable, but not in the manner I'm talking about. From what Optec's told us, I think that you're only researching spec. weapons for the Support ships. This would be giving a ship additional weapons, or upgrading the weapons it already has.

Yes, it's on the front page. Anyway I like the buying Special Weapons Idea, it makes perfect sence.

It makes sence but i dont like the idea. I give it a 1/5.

Well, let's leave the final verdict to Optec and Doca.

this may perhaps be an option, but hireing vessels and getting new special abilities on them should be enough. mercenaries are not the main part of fleet operations

Well, I guess you're right.

I still think it would be cool to equip a warbird with tricobalt torpedoes etc...

That would'nt be very cannon, I would like to equip alot of ships with more weapons of their race. Cant ever have enough Phasers and Disruptors. Not using the Special Energy of course but just doing to alot of the ships that has been done to the Rhien class. This would'nt be the Support ship idea because these upgrades are for weapons and shields and stuff, not Special weapons or specials Devices using special energy. Obviously enterprise-E was alot differant was differant when it was introduced then in Nemisis. Just thought a few more ships could use a touch up here or there at a price and can give someone with fewer ships but alot of resources an edge if he upgrades all the upgradable ships.

Only some ships should have it, and of those most ships are restricted to 1 SW.

We'll let Optec and Doca cola decide. *Advertisement: Doca Cola, Great taste and goes down smooth, get at your local super market. Doca Cola, the only drink that can cause Genetic Mutations.*

Yes. The Enterprise as seen in Nemisis was a Sovereign Class Uprated Model, as opposed to it's last appearance in Insurrection, where it was a standard Sovereign. 4 Phaser Arrays and 5 Torpedo Tubes were added, the shields were improved, and various other things were done. I would like to be able to refit my Sovereigns to the Uprated Model. As I said before, better Phasers, Rapidfire short-range Photons, more Shield and Hull HPs. This refit should cost 3CR

I think it could apply to alot of ships but just cost alot of resources, not any credits. I don't recall the Excelsior having Quantum Torpedos so that could be an upgrade for it right there. Now i'm not sure if anyone else thinks this is silly but being able to have infinate Sovern classes and a limit on Nebula, Galaxy and Steamrunner classes. The only ship that should have a limit like this I would have to say would be the Sovern class.

It's realism. Sovereign Class vessels are in active production. Production on Galaxy and Nebula class vessels has stopped. You have to warp them in from whatever sector they were in before.
And, it's just not fair at all if you can uprate an entire fleet of Sovereigns if you have enough resources. It should be limited to 3, just like the Descent Class.
And the Excelsior-II has long-range Quantums.
