Captain Proton wrote:I don't want them in, however more races are being produced. To name: Iconians, Noxter and Ciadan.

EDIT: Eraldo, may I just point out that you seem to have a very stern and somewhat aggressive tone.

Instead of saying 'I want because I liked' try 'Is it possible because i enjoyed?'

And also try searching the forums for topics already on this, there are countless

I would apologize as this wasn't my intention but nah

Get over it this is a forum not a voice recording, i worded it as it was in my head.

I did do a forum search before posting this topic and did not find a topic related to bringing back the cardies.... at least not with the key words "bring back cardasians" and if you meant there have been posts about this well ask your self why id search through countless topics to find my answer when i could post a topic and get the nice members of fleet ops to give me my answer.

I think there are roughly 20 threads over the course of the last 7 years... at least a quick search found that many having Cardassians right in the title, with the first topic being something along the lines of "where did the Cardassians go"  :whistling:

Personally, I agree very much with the idea of Cardassians being in a weakened state after the dominion war and being busy with internal affairs for the next decades.
NPC-race: Yes, great idea.
Playable: Never because of "How could they be a military force now?". With which military after being banged at their >homeworld<? With not having re-established politics and economy yet? Shall they make war with the few small fleets left?

Not a valid argument anymore seeing as how the devs have gone down the line of bringing a race called the iconians who have been extinct since before the feds started space exploration..... way before the current timeline ^^, then there's the Noxter who are completely made up.

Actually Eraldo, your counter argument is invalid.

FO is a different timeline, most of the Iconians escaped and the Cardassian military weakening is the reason why they won't be a full faction, as explained by the Devs.

well the Cardassians were no longer the military force they once were. Heck even in the TNG timeline their top vessels were grossly outmatched by newer federation, Klingon and Romulan designs.

If the Cardassians were brought back as a playable side they would need a unique advantage.
What would that be? Stealth? Small/fast vessels? Behemoth vessels? All of these are distributed amongst the fed/Klingon/Borg/Romulans.

Best to keep the cardies as a NPC race, anything else would only make them the laughing stock of FO.

Cardassians would most likely be all about numbers, they alway appeared in numbers. I think that would be a copy of the Dominion, though. What version could we expect to see Galor's, anyway?

Speaking of Cardassians, I wonder how long it would take them to rebuild...

in the Fleet Operations universe, Cardassia (and their colonies) are under reconstruction. many Federation (and Ferengi, Orion, Hydran and even some Klingon and Romulan) civil companies invested resources in their reconstruction, as they hope to gain a new market. The Federation, who invests most of the resources in Cardassia, has some other things in mind too. They want to bind Cardassia to the Federation, making then economically dependent reducing the risk of further threats .. and opening the gates to make Cardassia a potential member of the Federation. Its long-term thinking
Of course they are always happy to help civilians, too :)

We have some ideas in mind to let you interact with certain NP factions (like the cardassians for example) to gain specials from them, like a Galor for example :) more detials about that as soon as we are able to tell more, its only sketches at the moment. As we already anounced something mercenary-like you may be sure there will be ways beyond boarding to catch you a few Galors and Hidekis :)

That sounds a lot like the economic ties put into effect by the United Nations between Germany and France to create the Beginning of the European Union in the 50's.  They started with binding the coal companies of the two countries inextricably so that their economies would be too interdependant to engage in another war.  This blossomed over the next 50 years into the European Union that we have now .

And a Mercenary building would be great!  I'm sure we could find ways of making them present on maps with the proper balancing.
