Lakota, Venture - and more special "texture-changes" for veterans are going to be in, it just will take time
.
The current Excelsior in the game is a war refit afterall - not the easily destroyed Dominion vessels; so it is probably a direct predecessor to the Lakota in any case

i think the miranda's in the dom war were pulled out of mothballs, they were ships that were once decomissioned, or maybe put on light transport work. all the sass in the world doesnt make up for the fact that they were on par with kirk's wrath of khan constitution class, they probably just refitted better, like the excel class probably were easier to refit than the constellation class.

Could it act as a seperate version than the standard Excel? Because a sudden reconfig of the ship when being promoted would make no sense at all.

And why wouldn't that make any sense? Galaxy class starships were reconfigured, and the Lakota itself is a refit! Having the most experienced crews they would most likely be privy to the most advanced and powerful technology - if not having designed it themselves

When the Excelsior appears, could it be given 2 possible, randomly chosen color schemes? Either dark blue (like the Enterprise) or pale blue (like the Lakota).
Purely asthetic.

i think there is nothing wrong with minor (visual) refits when a vessel gains a new rank. it's that game versus (star trek) reality thing again. many things in fleet operations, armada 2 and a lot of other rts games do not make a lot sense at all.

sure, such variations are planned. we'd like to have more variety in what configurations warp-in vessels can appear. of course in the best case such ship variants will also be included for other races, but warp-in is currently the best platform to do just that.
