Optec wrote:we actually changed the supply gain per rankup, to scale better with default vessel strength (stronger vessels yielding more supplies). To soften the first steps of supply gain in early game, the prices got lowered for the Klingons.
The B'rel also got a new special ability, actually working with supplies, which helps its survivability. More changes to come in the next patches as we introduce the faction redos step by step
Can you shed some light on this new special?
I was working on a proposal to add a cloak disruptor to the gravity mine (cloaks use special energy during use to compensate for increased gravity) when i saw this post.

I believe that all of the following could be done to help re-balance the B'rel Class.
Spike the cost, drain the time:
I believe that the build time is ridiculous, I never build them except for maybe before I get the field research up. The time is basically the same as the K'beajQ. I believe that this could be done. Increase the dil and tri costs a bit, and reduce the build time to just slightly higher than the bug's build time (like, 2 or 3 second diff). This would make it an easy-pump ship allowing you to get some small squads out before people even begin expanding (on average, some people expand the same time they build up their starting base). And just like in the 3.07 with Romulan sensor stations, you could research cost reductions for the B'rel, K'vort, and Sang Birds of Prey (This would not be conveniently accessible or researchable until you transition into mid-late game period).
"Fire in threes":
In many Klingon battle scenes, I find both B'rel class and K'vort class birds of prey from TNG to DS9 commonly firing their pulses in rounds of three. Like "Bam-Bam-Bam...................Bam-Bam-Bam" kind of thing. It is more asthetic than balance, but it can also help with the "Deal as much damage as early as you can" kind of drive that is very demanding in both early and mid game periods.
"Stock up, raid, Stock up some more":
I find that early game it is hard to get rewarded for your kills. However, what if we were to have it that the small guys (mainly BoP, K'Tinga, and K'beajQ classes) have the ability to steal supplies, so that if you were to be trying to capture some small crew enemy ships, once captured you get the supply value of the ship. And for stations that have large crews, killing heavily shielded stations with itty-bitty guys will give an additional bonus (Mainly starbases and shipyards).
New Passive
I was thinking, what if the Pulses on the B'rel, just like in generations had a chance to go through your shields? I was thinking of maybe a 5% chance of penetration.
Off Topic Alert!
I was wondering if the Sang could get a new model, the thing looks like FO 2 or FO 3 PR stuff... no offense.

This thread wasn't about BALANCING the B'rel. Not necessarily ...

The Sang is getting a new model, haven't u read the to do list (click project progress link from FO homepage)? It's on the high priority section.
As far as Generations crap: NOOOOOOO! The only reason they managed to get their shots thru was due to seeing the shield frequency thru Geordi's visor, and the Enterprise crew was too incompetent to rotate the shield frequencies at all. That's because Generations was a shitty movie with hack writers, if you want to incorporate elements of it u could give the Galaxy a passive called "warp core breach" that makes it explode whenever the hull is scratched at all.

Don't forget First Contact, so also give an ability for the Sovereign called "target at the following coordinates" that instantly pwns all Borg ships by firing at the one spot that makes them explode (officially stated as being their toilet system that Picard fired at, apparently Borg crap is highly explosive.

I thought it was an exhaust port?

According to one of the creators in AOL, it was 'waste extraction'. Probably joking, but canon doesn't seem to be in a hurry to argue.

they shot their way through to the red buzzer labeled "Self destruct - Don't push or fire at!"
The new Klingon ability is used to help the B'rel gain ranks (which results in higher supply gains) and to make it more durable, to be head-to-head with other early game units in a very.. Klingon way. However, it will require an experienced player to yield of maximum performance of it! Lead your warriors to stovokor.. or to the bloodwine cargo decks, your choice
