S2 Spam

as feds a few pulse turrets would work wonders vs s2 spam since they will do half damage against the turrets, and take full damage as they are small.
mons and intreps probably work equally as well vs s2, so id mix them equally, via double yard spam. the mon suffers a bit from its passive not being perfect again sr, while the intrep misses 40% of the time with its torp and is a slight bit slower. the mon special is awesome for finishing off a retreating s2.

Hey myles alot of people on here seem to be having trouble, including boggz who is getting his ass kicked right now, so could you come on and show us how to do it? I think itd really help if you could show us.

Well Myles I thought the same thing. I suggest you play against Stardust (likely the most competent Dominion player right now). I've been testing lots of strategies with him last night and this night and it's not working out.
I hate to sound like Dominus, but I really suggest you try it

against stardust we could play identically, with exactly the same number of the same ships and i bet he'd beat me lol. a test needs players of the same skill to be valid. i dont believe s2 are op, they are certainly worth their cost, but not op.

I guess I don't understand why you've taken such a stance against it when you haven't tried it and claim you couldn't beat Star anyway ....

Well boggz, got his ass kicked, and even stardust admits that when i played him, it coulda gone either way, and it was a really close game, but even so, i still lost, and i was playing my absolute best, i honestly think anyone who plays a dominion player who is s2 spamming, who is a halfway decent player, will be destroyed.

Well guys I'm finding out with Dom's help that the middle moon on Duel II is one of the biggest reasons why it's causing a problem. The S2's are built and repair too close for sufficient ships to be able to withstand them.
I'm working on a fix for that right now

Perhaps then we need to try s2 spam on other maps...... such as early bird or another 1v1, but i like early bird cus its awesome!!!!!

Well I'd like to ultra-balance one map at a time
. Early Bird's setup has a whole host of problems that are harder to identify. Finding a map type that is suitable for any race is difficult to say the least.

True however in time, i hope that we (people who have the skills to create maps(not me)) will be able to create a few balanced map for each standard game type as after all, how can you balance things or test them without a balanced map (whatever that means it sounds good!

I mean maybe itd be possible for the devs to release a minipatch of some balanced maps that they make? Im just assuming the devs have the best tools to make the best maps?

Well .. how about shifting the weapon strength of the s2 a little in favor to its torpedo. It would make it less effective against the early ships without really nerfing it

i never said i havnt tried using s2s, in fact i nearly always make them as dominion because they are so useful, i just dont feel they are op like kvort used to be.
middle moons benefit dominion players a lot. a common fed double yard strat is to put the second yard at your primary exp, ive been thinking about expanding first to the middle yard in duel 2 with a yard, it would require the fed player to keep pressuring a lot.

I really doubt that it's due to the middle moon yard. Most of the time, I just used the green nebulae to repair, and just because there isn't a moon in the middle doesn't really stop someone from building a yard there. And Myles, if you mixed monsoons and intreps you would have trouble microing ships at different speeds and get piecemealed. Also, I have tried it in a 3v3 on Destiny Board and was able to kill everyone's minining before they could send reinforcements. Finally they all had to come after me and all I had to do was run right through their lines. The problem is is that they are durable and really easy to produce.

@funny yep easily and fast to produce, sturdy and quick.. those s2s are nasty...
well has someone anything to add on my idea to shift the weapon power from beam to torps a little more?
(I dont know the concrete values though) Because making em more torps heavy would reduce the usefulness in early game... if you dont want to nerf them
