On the whole we feel more fragile , more easily detected and I think we are the only race that lost a chunk of our fleet. We now can't even chase a sphere down with our base generix. I think we lost the most in the most recent patch even tho we gained a torpedo boat.

Don't worry. The Generix isn't entirely done so far as there's only the Specter refit available atm. More options will arrive overtime.

the generix still has a 2 second cloak, and 2 torps. it is understandable cant tank like the old spec did. good micro can still cloak them away. plus they arent expensive really, they are available without any tech buildings, straight from the start and their special is at the research institute, easily mixable with a leahval strat. they can be mixed with leahvals to keep constant production going as the leahvals are bloody expensive. the new gen refits are coming in future patches.

Go in uncloaked, take out Peri scube. Take out Adaptors next. The Borg just lost a chunk of their fleet. Cloak is certainly less powerful against Borg, but it's not that bad.

He means Rom vs. Borg balance guys.

those are pretty arbitrary targets lol, its best to be more fluid with what you target based on circumstance.

also he wasnt talking exclusively about rom v borg, and i wasnt excluding rom v borg. base gens and leahval mix will do well, and you can keep production flowing with lower cost gens. you only need 1 tech building, the research inst, for both ships specials. they are different ranges too so they wont get slapped down by adaption moduled adaptors. the auto target wil go after 18 def leahvals first (gens def 20), which u can auto repair away and its easier to keep leahvals alive.

The adpator out speeds you? why would it ever get in over its head. I seriously couldn't drive off a borg fleet. and all Iwas using was leavahls and generix. Icouldn't catch anything that ran. It was rather frustrating then I finally get my ENTIRE fleet at the time and catch his sphere solo. The sphere gets 3/4ths killed and speeds away. game over. Against non borg opponents we stand a fair chance but at this time I don't see borg/rom balance.

its silly to talk about not seeing balance after 1 day of the patch. what we need is more testing by the community before anyone is ready to decide roms cant handle borg.

Well to be fair, a speed imbalance would be one of the easier things to notice.

remember you can decloak right on top of them. and the generix is spammable and has a special (easily accessible in research institute) that has a chance to disable engines.

If anything, the changes to the generix and its placement in the tech tree make the Romulans even better than they were against the borg.

Ma-aaaaal! Don't tell him that - after all, it's not like YOU'D not want to face dual yard stock Generix or something, riiiight? I mean, common, everybody knows that torpedoes from a fast building cloaking ship are terrible against the Borg  :fish: . What were you thinking
