You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

I believe matal is a less needed material for scientific purposes then supplies, and stations obviously consume up more tritanium than a couple of norways. And this could surly be balanced again, as well as the curent system. Like it?
PS: And I always voted for trade stations.
Thats a good idea...

I agree with most of the posts here that having to "buy" SP. from the starbase's GUI is not to some efficent. How ever I feel that giving the Feds an Borg or Dominion style SP generation system would not be in the best interest of gameplay balancing. If a Trading Station was to be used as a SP generation tool . The Rate of Generation of Sp's should be very low . Say 2 SP every 45 seconds. As for the Klingons Using Cloaked Ships to steal resourses It is NOT a Klingon trait to use subterfuge ( Romulans and Ferengi ). If a Klingon need something ...HE JUST TAKES IT BY BRUTE FORCE. not petty theft.

while reading all this....
does anyone actually use the carrier class ships of the feds or dominion?
i skip them most times, cause i dont see a real advantage in using fighters..

I know some people use them as sheer cannon fodder, but no, nobody I think has used them for their strategic value (i.e. not wasting resources). The implementation of fighter mechanics has just too many problems. Even though the Feds carrier is long range... you are better off getting more Akiras, and the Dominion carrier is either medium or short range... which means it can't even support itself (despite the high defense).

I use carriers, because any fighters you launch will stay there after the battle and attack any enemy ships that wonder through the area. Managed to get rid of a Breen Cruiser I lost to the Borg that way.

In answer to your question ,Klok I do use them to camp out over wormholes and at the edge of nebulas that can cover some wormholes.Although the ability to destroy large vesels is not good . The fighters do tie up opponent ships till larger ships can return from Repair yards.

And the Phalanx is amazing when you maicro it.
(no, maicro is not a misspelling, rather a contraction of micro and macro. It's the secret of Risner, who requires that you can play half-decently with many other races BEFORE you play as her.)

Okay I'm back...
Now, I've seen some comments that I liked. Talking about research only needing supplies. I agree with that. Though if that is going to happen than there has to be some way each race would gather their supplies. Like I said before, each race should have a source of gradual gain and a source of instant gain. The Dom have their white synthesizer. The Feds should have a Trading station. The Klingons can upgrade their mining facility making 5% of recieved resources be converted into supplies (freighters can also upgrade their maximum resource capacity). And the Romulans can have a station that converts energy into supplies. But there will have to be a cool down time.
Okay I think I pulled it off. How do you guys think?

This is a genuine question but what does that all mean? I mean i could probably work it out but why speak like that? Surely your more likely to get your point across if you use correct English that is concise? By using that type of language you dilute your opinion and can come across as a new inexperienced and pushy person.
Sorry if it seems like all i am doing is picking up your language however i do think that the use of such language in an intelligent conversation does you no justice and merely hinders your opinions and suggestions. English has been around for hundreds of years, it was based on ancient languages. It is a very precise language that while hard to learn is capable of explaining things with far more ease than many languages due to the sheer number of words for different kinds of objects, thoughts, emotions, etc etc.
Once again i am sorry if this seems rude however i personally find language like that pointless and in many ways i tend to get offended when people speak to me like that as it tends to imply i am either to stupid to understand properly spoken English or i am not worth the effort to speak properly to.

I was just frustrated. That was because of me getting all worked up over some thing that is no longer relevant. Can we just focus... I'm sure everyone has their moments...

Of course, Personally i think some more interesting "fraction" buildings would be nice. Perhaps in the form of another type of unlock able outpost.
For the Dominion you can have one that has limited ship building facilities.
For the Klingon you go for one that is a more capable defensive/offensive fire base.
For the Romulan you could go for one that cloaks and has map revealing abilities (like sensor scans of an area, or probe like abilities)
For the Federation you go for a Science type one something that can provide some general benefits to the Federation player while it is standing, things like sub system increases, supply bonuses (think Genesis research station), The ability to repair while within a short distance of it? Those are just some idea.s....

i just tried them once, and it seemed to me like a waste of ressources, cause the fighters can be one-shot and seem to do less damage then a scout. thats why im asking, cause i think i might completly missing the point about them.

My fighters usually last several shots.

Fighters just don't seem like a big part of the big picture for the feds, but that's not a problem for me because they never really used fighters in any of the series, anything smaller than a runabout anyway. It seems perhaps more of a tactic that the Maquis would use.
