I hope the Romulans get hit with the nerf bat, especially the support refit that recharges shields, cant remember the name of the ship. Once you have a shit load of them with your dps fleet you are immortal till the energy is depleted. Please change it so that once its turned on it recharges 1 ship and then has to wait for a full recharge to use again as atm it is overpowered when in big numbers.

It sounds like you want to play as Optimize Borg, and use Prime Spheres. Can't recharge shields when nothing has any special weapon energy.

Well, you can't do a lot of attacking as Borg when you're facing off against a bunch of support refits.

Either way, Shield Recharge will be removed soon, but maybe something can be implemented next patch to make it a bit less evil. When a faction is weak, super abilities like that tend to make the faction seem not so bad in the middle and end game - but when the faction is balanced... the abilities get banned (and seeing as most people only use the Support Refit for its third ability on full auto...). Don't want another repeat of 3.0.7 Sensor Blackout

I play alsorts. The problem is not when you are against 3-5 its when you are against 10-15+ supports and they all recharge at the same time, using so little energy to recharge shields.

I hear the problem. It used to be a lot worse to be honest.
Think of it this way: The Supports themselves cannot fight effectively. They are weak and even though they can recharge the shields of a larger vessel, they are a poor fighter. If they spent all their money on supports, they SHOULD have less overall firepower than you do.
Now ... if for some reason they have LOTS of Supports and plenty of D'Deridex, Norexans .. what-have-you, then target the Supports one by one first with all of your firepower. If your opponent is on high-special autonomy, they will autorecharge those shields but will waste LOTS of special energy on plasma mines and plasma bolts. If they are NOT on auto, they will have a VERY hard time selecting recharge and fully recharging that ship befor eyou kill it. If they do manage to recharge that vessel, switch targets rapidly so they have to "follow" you with recharge. Eventually you will start destroying them and then their energy will run out.
