Mayson Vs. Risner

  Did ANY of you watch these videos and notice how Mayson obliterates Risner almost without contest?

nah, I never get around it these days because the web browser that is good for posting can't seem to recognize the Flash plugin. And the one that does I usually have problems posting with.

  Look ... Dom, Yandonman, and myself all spent time testing other strategies and videorecording the best one to put this out.  I then went to the trouble of putting all this up in a topic in a semi-humorous manner (so we can all stay pleasant), but really went to a lot of trouble to do this.

All this was in the interest of balancing one of the most distinct advantages remaining in the game.


  PLEASE ... don't hover around this thread like flies waiting for it to die.    I'm trying really hard to give the Devs feedback from the online-playing community about what it the most distinctly out-of-balance aspect left.

Thanx .. i needed to laugh today, now i know why Yandonman seemed funny to me  .. and may i say i was the first to watch the video .. i was viewer nr 1

Also it is fact that early game avatar owns late game avatar .. and here is one think you warp-in haters, consider playing without it .. you are dead meat. Granted using the warp-im rush is hard to counter but it's not impossible.
Solution would be really easy :
You can only warp in to where you have a clear line of sight .. say you have a scout in that region.
Also i would welcome a more balanced avatar system, as for now it seems that late game avatars are suckers, specially in 1 vs. 1.

One more side note to Mr. Boggz, you are not that good .. Sorry if it seem offensive. DN is some 3-4 lvls above you lad

  Wow ... thx for putting that so kindly.

  I disagree with you .  Dom is excellent, but you and I never play together anyway, Dexter.  I don't know how you came to that opinion.  Dom and I have different playstyles but I'm definitely one of the better online players.  Not saying that to toot my own horn but to say that a game between Dominus and I is not far from balanced.  In multi-player online team games I tend to want to have fun and be less efficient (as I HATE spamming), but in this situation the goal was to WIN and to show how much stronger Mayson is.  All I had to make besides Warp-ins were Norways and Excel II's.  I had the game won when his tri miners could no longer mine.  He has no tritanium to expand, to build more ships, to do more research ... the game was over.  Dom will agree with that. We dragged it out just to show the ultimate result.  Most of out test matches we played to find the best strat for Risner in this case ended much sooner because we knew he was beat and didn't need to continue.


  Either way ... If I suck like Dexter says and I CREAMED Dom in this game, then what does say about Mayson?

In fact, I can say that if Boggz hadn't attacked so soon, and had waited for the second Warp-In, I think I would have died much more quickly (the chances of two Steams, and no chance for any expansion for me...). The point was to illustrate that you can get Warp-In waaaay faster than Risner can get ships out ... and yet he can still get loads of vessels out, and it can be done without much skill and practically no micromanagement. I lost less ships than Boggz, and was able to retreat most of them - but that's no substitute for free ship spam and the inability to expand because I am on zero resources most of the time.

  I even pointed out how it didn't matter if I lost some Norways to silly AI or pathing - I had more .

Aye, you even killed my turret while taking several several losses... didn't even matter. You could have expanded to all the moons in the world while I was kept pent up

UGH! Such lies. ??@#$^ @ #*&$ I know how to beat Mayson. Get my mother on the other end and Mayson is toast. However, maybe you should have only built 1 yard and then divert both constructors to constructing turets. Just a thought, probibly wrong, but anything that works. Also Dominus has an Intell Duo Positronic Bio Nueral AMD Turion X2000 Windows 7 Brain get it right Boggz  .
