Klingon SuSa >> Borg ?

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

at the time you have spheres, partial adaption and devastating attack there will be more than 20 susas to eat your base.

Researching Holding Beams for stations will be helpful, they don't use Special energy and will be able to assimilate ships with smaller crews to make it easier for your ships.

20 SuSa?  Never seen any build go that quick.  Remember, effecient Borg startup is Conduction Matrix ->Connections Rate Increase->Transmission Matrix->Sphere.  That's the power of Optimize.  And frankly, for dealing with that, Devastating Attack is overrated.  It drains Energy that could be used to power the Regeneration ability.  If you're going to sacrifice special weapon energy, use Boarding so that enemy ships turn around and start shooting their friends.

I usually forgo the conduction matrix to be able to pump out Scubes early on (up to like 8 ). They're great for harassing until i can start building assims and spheres and stuff, and plus i'm pretty sure you get better bang for your buck early on.

I'm pretty sure you mean Transmission Matrix RCIX, as the Conduction Matrix is needed before building Collective Uplinks  ^-^

Yep i always get those two confused!

I usually only build Scubes when I have no other choice, because they are easily destroyed and eat 10 connections.  Of course, I'm also not a spammer...which is why I usually play Borg.

hi, has anyone tested this thing yet?
I just played against Merciless Borg (Default Settings, Map: Old Space) and it was an easy win with Sus'a Spam...

Against Assimilate Directive it is not succesful, against Opti it is more succesful... in certain scenarios

Early Assimilators kick the crud out of Sus'a' in my own experience. Afterall, they are available when you have just begun expanding.

early assim is no problem... dealt with that - just wait till 6th susa or circle repair your ships (and use your special wisely)

tested today: 2 spheres < 16 susas; 3 assims < 16 susas

probably you can deal with torpedo assimilators , but surly not with assim-beam assimilators. They won't never let a susa escape when they started assimilating it.

2 spheres < 16 susas

When you said this, it caught my attention. Are you playing a multiplayer game? I think you are just comparing similar costs... which I was incorrect about earlier: about 4-5 Sus'a' make up one 3x Regen 1x Prime Sphere I think. That, a Sphere can handle... but like the Borg underpowered thread that is now dangerously close to becoming similar to this thread... these 1v1 comparisons are pointless. There is no way an opti player would be caught dead using just two spheres--especially not against Sus'a' spam. I doubt an opti player would even build two spheres if they knew there were going to be Sus'a' (I'd probably build at least two Probes to start, moving onto either a Sphere or Scout Cubes to take down Sus'a's fast.

Furthermore, the Sus'a' requires Field Research and perhaps even the upgrade as well as the Field Expansion to make them build faster (you won't be able to get 16 by the time your opponent has 3 Assimilators if you only have a non expanded yard)... so now you can only build 3-4 Sus'a' at best to go against the first Assimilator. In reality, in all the games that I've played, even a Romie player can only get out about 4-5 Rhienns in the time it takes to get an Assimilator... and these ships have a very tough time even with long range.
