Klingon SuSa >> Borg ?

You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

Hi, any ideas what to do as borg against susa spam? I tried this really boring spam tactic (lots of susas) and every time it was a really easy win (against human players and AI) - they easily kill Assims, SCubes, Spheres, Diamonds and Cubes...

Assimilate them! Crew is 90, so fairly low. Also, stay out of range... even though the Sus'a' is faster :P

I haven't seen the tactic online yet, so would you care to tell me what your Borg opponent's strategy was?

theres 2 options i think,

1. assimilation and assimilator spam with full assimilationbeam modules, shielddevastator and boarding. with a handful of them it goes poppoppop and they are all derelicts

2. otimization and scoutcube spam with beammodule, highenergy slicingbeam and devastator

Not so sure pure Scout Cube spam is best to go against the Sus'a' (cruiser, right?): I think teching up to assims with a few Probes would be best in this case.

hm yeah i was thinking about it for a moment, too, but.. with scubes you get more ships, all able to hit 2 targets. i would prolly stick to the first method, so the second just came to mind as an alternative

Nah, I would do a full size cube spam. Every cube had the following onfiguration:

2x Tactical Armor
1x Beam Mod
3x Holding Beam Mod

Those cubes wiped ot everything, I wish I took a pic of that. I had about 120 of them!

Yes, well the first definitely works (same strategy for each non-Borg race actually).

It's opti that's got a bit more leeway: multitargeting Scubes...I may have to test that one out more.  ^-^

Hopefully that was a joke Gamer...  :pinch:

As i only play against the comp im not the best expert, but i have generally found if you can get even 1 cube with this configuration build then your base is safe.  Two cubes and they are dead.

Still... got to build them before they rush you.....

Cubes are not a valid tech strat in a 1v1. This is a thread about balance, and no human player is not going to rush you before you get (a) cube/s.

Scube spam isn't really a great thing as the Borg.  Scubes, really, are a support ship.  They draw auto-targetting off the real threats...with the exception of the Nirvana II map, where you can give them Boarding and Transwarp to repeatedly assimilate people's mining without ever going through their wormholes.

but you can build more and faster susas as you get your horde of assims, not to mention tactical cubes (lol?)
Never fought against masses of scubes (slicing beam... don´t think there is time and money for that).
Assims + pyramide holding beams seam to be a theoretical solution - if you survive that long with enough resources.

Masses of susas are pretty useless against other races, so in a 2v2 match you have to concentrate on the borg opponent.

Try using Sus'a' against enemy battleships ;)
As destroyers, torps will miss a lot, while their own torps will always hit. Plus, last ditch assault is quite powerful.

Scubes are powerful when used correctly: they make excellent harassment vehicles when combined with transwarp for instance. Don't buy slicer first, go for devastating attack as that will completely remove the shields of opposing destroyers and cruisers, while slicer in fact does minimal damage at that chassis level (despite the size bonus).

I find that a Sphere with 3 regen and one beam module is an excellent counter to SuSa, with the collective feature of Partial Adaptation.

How many Sus'a' s is the question I suppose: I think at least 8 Sus'a' gives the equivalent cost of a Sphere... maybe it is more actually. Those 8 Sus'a' are more than enough to kill a Sphere without partial adaption.... with it I'm not so sure: if you added on devastating attack, it would be much better.

You should try a Sphere with a Prime Module and 3 regens: it does more damage and lasts much longer than a 3 regen 1 beam module (of course, you need to be opti).
