Admitedly, I dont do MP that often, but in every case I've just spammed Mk2 excelciors with ACM, and the enemy fleet vanishes (although, admittedly, I tend to also focus on a secondary screen of expendables to screen for them once I have the resources). Besides, once the Mk2 gets enough experience for arty range, a swarm of them becomes a massive danger to basicly anything, since a few seconds of immobility can be traded for a salvo that will always hit the target.

Wouldn't a swarm of cheaper cruisers/destroyers (eg: Torp Rhienns for example) just make a kebab of the swarm of E2s?

Sounded like a Vs. AI strat to me

It sounds like he is saying when he does play MP he just spams E2s.  I wonder about the quality of his opposition.

I've seen some E2 "spamming" to a certain extent, but there is always a lot more to it than just that. If you can produce a "swarm" of E2s then you probably have already won the game.

Well, its simple, you run like hell if you see anyone, you have long range (arty range once leveld up) so you use that range, and pound stuff from it.

What can I say, I dont play to macro and win thru being 5 seconds quicker, and think balancing a RTS over that is just plain silly.

as for Ktinga rush, cant really say if its op based on online gameplay... but you catch the Hard AI with their pants down with it. Merciless AI ktinga rush does absolutely nothing, but it slaughters the other two AIs.

ktinga rush is just building plenty of topmeys and changing them to ktingas right?

Generally, I have my first two constructors build two mining stations, then build a third constructor which goes all over the map building mining stations. The other two after they build the mining stations have one build a shipyard while my starbase builds topmey galore. By the time I have three-five built, I can tie the AI down, while my constructor builds enough economy to let my other two constructors stay at home and one builds research, the other builds shipyards.  I build like 15 of em, eventually having kbeajqs from the shipyard help out. The ktinga just continuously reinforce themselves.

smaller the map better the ktinga rush works ive found. ive never had my ktinga fleet entirely destroyed, but ive had them tweedled down to just a handful, but by that time, ive racked up 2-3000 in dilithium, and just jump to larger ships. ktingas destroyed the expansion, and held off any attacks.

actually, I lied. Ktinga rush can destroy AI merciless... just not on large maps, at least haven't been able to yet on large maps. I played it on the maps with limited expansions, sat my ktingas on the natural expansion of the AI, and crushed it. Fed AI at least.
