Hyperspace Artillery = Too Powerfull
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

It would be cool if th artilleries range scaled with the size of the map. Lets say always 5% of the edge-length. Thus you could not use it sensibly in small maps and shoot the enemy from your own base.

Ok. I did one of my video recreations again!
See for yourself.
I think we should add more countdown time to this. 8-10 secs would be much better. Once you hear the ticking. You have to search the map for where. Then mico you ships away. Even when they are moving they barely get out of the way. Its much worse when you have to find the location thats about to get destroyed

With 8-10 sec countdown the hyperspace artillery would become useless in battle. I think that even the artillery itself could exit the blast area in 8 sec

My fleet of small reins couldnt move fast enough! They have a lof of distance to travel if they arent going to be destroyed by the hyperspace arty.

Whoa... come on! The Romulans coul use a bit more power, that is the EXACT reason I proposed the Shadow class in the first place! Because the Feds seem to be strongest no matter what.

I have no problems with this, if the team also doubles its power

Otherwise your just being silly

we thought about that
at the moment we are evaulation some upgrades or changes to the artillery, like an additional fire mode, that causes large scale destruction, but has larger "incoming times"

That sounds good. You never know when ur gonna have lag and losing 5k dilithium isnt fair to something that cost 300 dil. Nice ideas

Yep those are nice ideas...
Imagine a 60s timer for a total destruction of a particular area. And then all the enemy shippies trying to destroy the arty lol, thats almost a new game mode in the game: Protect that unit!

Well, the ship is...
1] Weakly sheilded and in hull for a ship so slow
2] It lacks a defensive beam of its own, making it an open target
3] Sure it is cheap, but I often lose 5-8 per game.

Sounds almost perfect for attacking a Borg base.

Seriously if you were romulan, you should have had cloaked ships all in the base and on the border so you could track there ship movments, you complain about no notice from the hyperspace artilry, think about how it feels to be feds or borg or dominion,
all is peacful in your base, your battleing the roms/kligons, you know they will attack at some point and are in constant fear of where they might strike, your mining is pushed to the max, you have alot of ships, but have to spread them out to defend each base, you dont have enough trilithium for a massive sensor net tho, all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, theres a bunch of enemy ships that just decloaked, oh wait, your happy, they went away they decloaked, Yay! then you realize, oh shit, all my mining is gone
seriously man you want to complain about the hyperspace artilley, sure it can take out small ships, but its slow not good at cloase range, horrible defenses, expensive, and has a timer, wheras anybody who uses roms or kligons has an instant advatange
anbody with cloaking race has the advantage of sneak attacks and a ship sensors net, and there enemy in the battle is at a disatvatage because now they must counter the cloaks, you have to make a choice if your facing a cloaking race, ships or sensors, you have to make a decision, you can only have both early on if you walk a very fine line

But think about it this way. Back it up with a fleet of the light support cruisers (can't remember their names right now, c-17?) and all of a sudden you can fire off 2 or three blasts in short order. Combine that with the fact that stations don't move and you got yourself a turret deconstructor! not to mention the fact that the support ships can take out nearly anything with their cascade overload...

I think that hyperspace is very similar to the cascade.
Anyway, I played another game against dominion where he rammed my ships. I knew he was gonna so I build 2 yards and a bunch of sabers and attacked him constantly. Anyway I say he had a hyperspace so i targeted it and only could mive in 1 direction cause of bugs. and 1 shot from the arty where I was on the edge of the blast killed all 16 of my sabers!!!!! And they had their little special on and we moving quite quickly. I do not think the split damage was thrown in for this weopon. If so, it does way too much damage!!! Between ramming and this it makes it nearly imposible to survive!

I knew where the hyperspace was, so I decloaked on top of his fleet of bugs to destroy them first,
