Dude, no offense at anything, but Norways S-U-C-K SUCK! I've killed a fleet of them with 5 K'Beaqs, no damage to my fleet!

not really, if you have one in your fleet then you can expose cloaked ships, tell me that doesnt make it uslefull...ish

Exposing cloaked ships is mainly the Canaveral's job, not the Norway's. And, if a Support Vessel is dependent on another Support Vessel, you know that it sucks.  That's why I don't use Mayson, even though my 2nd favorite ship: the Execelsior-II, is powered up.  WHY FLEETOPS TEAM, WHY??!!!  Well, it's kind of obvious why, to balance the Feds.

The Norway is there for endurance in base assaults (Assault Mode) and supporting allies (Emergency Power).

At least, thats what it looks like to me.

the assault mode doesnt help at all
only the emergency power can help a tad

the norway class needs some kind of upgrade that makes it usefull compared to the Canaveral and the Remore class, At the moment u dont need the norway once u got those to shipclasses

btw:Mayson is still good cuz the ACS torpedos rock like hell ... combined fleet of defaints and excesior-II and a few other ships kicks the hell outa borg cubes.

the assault mode doesnt help at all

It increases shield/hull repiar rate and reduces damaged from stations, hardly the kind of effect you can see with the naked eye.

Ah my bad, good point.
But the if you read memory alpha on the Norway it is still a support ship, not a full combat ship.

well, i took myself some time to test the norway
plasma coil: can be usefull against fleets of smaler ships
emergency power: can be very usefull to back up other support ships, i use it for my remore class ships
assault mode: could be usefull if the assault mode would hit not only the norway, cuz the norway is no combat ship, even with this assault mode its way to weak, so ppl use the special energy for the plasma coil or the emergency power

so in the end: i think im gonna use this ship to help my remores with the emergency backup, but i still dunno what the assault mode does there ... would help more on some kind of combat ship

yeah, your right. I tested the assault mode.

While yes it boosts the defencive abilities a bit, its still not nearly enough to make the Norway of any use par from assissting your 'better' ships. (which for some reason seems to be what is design for.)

the plasma coil is nasty against klingons or roms tho, put 2-3 norways in your fleet and all the lil bops/rhiens/shrikes/etc that it hits, get blown away in a few moments^^
