Hmm, but the prototypes are kind of... useless they are until now. Okay, researched constructions are useless too when you gained them, but the prototypes wont even level up, have no special abilities and are for defending reasons only significant when you have larger ships. I dont want to set in a A-26 Bomber because this ship will be destroyed very easily.

to go back to topic: mybe the ai is just harder, because it doesn't rely on resources. it just follow its build-patter of ships. fed ships are not so strong alone, thats why the fed ai is not so difficult. dominio ships are stronger, but cost more. because the cost doesn't matter to the ai they build an equal amount of ships, which are stronger than the amount of fed shiips. the top of all are the borg.their ships arre abnormally strong, so they build an abnormal strong fleet. i hope this cleared it up a bit.^^

dont play against the dominion or borg merciless ai on your own. thats like begging to get slapped

I think the races are balanced for MP play and not so much for IA....the AI is gonna get redone within the next couple or patches I belive. Try modding the aips for the dominion or even simpler just set the AIs build time handicap to a higher setting. to acheive a more "balanced" game against the AI.

I have noticed that the Dominion bug ship ram is Extreamly over powered.  One bug should not be able to take out, 1 a Galaxy class, and or 2 a mining station.  this is way unbalenced.  IMO  And it ruins the early game for almost all races.

Two bugs cannot take out a mining station. One can take out most vessels with defense less than 30 though... :)

also it has low defense, so mostly it shouldn't even be able to come close to your ships.

EDIT:darn, why are you so fast dominus^^

well, unless you micro your ships early in game(which is hard when you are building the mining station) it is easy to take out the ships.  Any way, I guess my construction ship was destroyed before the station was built, that would explain alot.  :sweatdrop:  Any way, It still shouldn't be able to tke out a galaxy.  I think it should go from 30 to, 15-20, but that is just my experience.

we could give the collisions supply costs. you would have to spend much white to make your crew go kamikaze^^

Yes, the early construction kill is OP currently (been saying that since 3.07 came out), but it is a strategy that is generally frowned upon (just like probe attacking constructs in 3.05a and below was considered poor etiquette). I don't really see too much of a problem with the Bugs... but I do find it extremely irritating that it can take out most cruisers in a single shot, preventing an opponent from teching up (and of course, taking out a Galaxy in one hit is also semi-strange... it should leave just a bit of hull health to make the tactic slightly more expensive). I don't know if that is overpowered yet, I'll probably comment on it within a few weeks depending on experimentation :). If it was lessened, I'd say about 25-28: enough to kill many cruisers that are weaker and cheaper, but leaving the 2-4x as-expensive-as-a-Bug cruisers.

I'll take that as a compliment Dna42: I seem to get that a lot

Just one comment on the Dominion AI. The reason they seem stronger than the rest is, IMO, the fact that the AI doesnt use supplies and since all Dominion ships are supply-heavy in cost they get an unintentional bonus....

About the bug ramming, its damage could be lowered a bit, but not too much so. Before the redo it was pretty useless, though even before that it did area damage and that was cool OP again :D
Dunno, just lower its damage output for a couple of %

Bug ships should do damage to shields, and not directly to hull.

The Odyssey hull was hit directly in that DS9 epsiode, but her shields were down. And besides that shuttles cannot land if shields are up.

But then the ram damage of the bug ships must be increased.

unless the shields are already down.  I definitally agree.

I think the ram is way overpowered.

collision will be changed a bit in 3.0.8. The base.damage will drop, but damage will increase with each level

Dont take it the wrong way, as i hate bugs reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaly, but just remembered something from cannon, in the invasion of the Chin'toka system Nog says "I always thought the Jem'Hadar were craizy" to wich Garak replies " There is method to there madness, they'r inflicting considerable damage to the klingons " - as the klingon vorch'as whit full shields up are destroyed bie bug collisions ( DS9 06 x 26 - Tears of the Prophets ), oh and bie the way Martok says they managed to destroy or disable 15 of his ships.  >:(
